PA UC appeal won - how long until payment hits Money Network card?
Finally had my appeal hearing yesterday and the referee ruled in my favor! After 9 weeks of fighting this unfair disqualification, I'm officially eligible again. The referee said I should receive all my back payments, but didn't say WHEN. Has anyone gone through this before? How long after winning your appeal did your payments actually hit your Money Network card? I've got bills piling up and need to plan accordingly. Trying not to get my hopes up that it'll be super fast...

Congrats on winning your appeal! In my experience, it took about 7-10 business days for my payments to hit my card after the referee's decision. They have to process the decision, remove the disqualification from your claim, and then authorize all your back payments. The system isn't exactly lightning fast. Make sure your payment method is still set to the Money Network card in your dashboard!

•Thank you! 7-10 business days isn't too bad considering how long I've already waited. I'll double check my payment method is still set correctly. Really appreciate the info!

DONT COUNT ON IT BEING FAST!!! I won my appeal in January and it took FOUR WEEKS to see a penny!!! The referee said 5-7 days but that was a JOKE. Had to call like 50 times before someone fixed whatever was holding it up. The system is BROKEN!!

•Four weeks?? That's insane! Did they ever explain what caused the delay? I seriously can't wait that long.

•They gave me some BS about "processing backlog" and "manual review required after appeals" - but the REAL reason was nobody bothered to look at my claim until I finally got through to a rep!! Keep calling!!

Congrats on the appeal! When I won mine last month, it took exactly 12 days for my payments to hit my card. Something to keep in mind - if your benefit year ended during this dispute, you might need to file a new application before they'll release payments, even if you won the appeal. Did the referee mention anything about that?

•No, the referee didn't mention anything about filing a new application. My benefit year started in March 2025, so I should still be in the same benefit year. Does that sound right?

•Yes, if your benefit year started in March 2025, you should be fine! Just wanted to mention it because it tripped me up. The 12 days was calendar days not business days by the way.

•Wow, 3 days would be incredible! I wonder what makes the difference in processing times.

I was wondering about this too! Just had my hearing Tuesday and still waiting to hear the decision. If I win, glad to know what to expect for timeline. Good luck!

•Good luck with your decision! My referee actually told me right at the end of the hearing, so I didn't have to wait for that part at least.

Have you tried calling the PA UC service center directly? I know it's nearly impossible to get through to them, but I used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to a real person in about 20 minutes. They were able to tell me exactly when my payments would process after my appeal was approved. Saved me tons of stress! They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2

•I hadn't heard of that service before. I've been calling every day with no luck. Might be worth trying if I don't see anything by next week. Thanks for the tip!

my sister-in-law had this happen and her money came in exactly one week after she won her appeal but then again that was during a slow period last summer so maybe its different now with all the factory layoffs happening

•That's a good point about timing. I hadn't thought about how current claim volume might affect processing times.

Important thing to remember - make sure you keep filing your weekly claims during this waiting period! Even though you won the appeal, if you miss filing any weekly certifications, you won't get paid for those weeks. The system doesn't automatically file them for you retroactively.

•That's really good advice! I've been filing every week even while disqualified, but I could see how someone might stop doing that. Thank you!

Has anyone gotten their payment faster by going to the CareerLink office in person? I heard sometimes they can help speed things up but wasn't sure if that's true for appeal payments specifically.

•CareerLink staff generally can't expedite UC payments directly - they're separate departments. CareerLink focuses on employment services, while UC handles benefits. Your best bet is still reaching a UC representative by phone.

Update: Just wanted to let everyone know that my payments hit my Money Network card today - exactly 8 days after winning the appeal! All my back payments came at once. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for your help and advice.

That's fantastic news Sofia! 8 days is pretty reasonable all things considered. I'm currently waiting on my appeal decision (should hear back any day now) and this gives me hope that if I win, I won't be waiting forever for the payments. Did you get any kind of notification before the money hit your card, or did it just show up? Also wondering if the back payments came as one lump sum or broken out by week?
