How long for PA UC Money Network card transfers to hit bank account?

I need to pay rent next week and just got my benefits loaded onto my Money Network card. I initiated a transfer to my checking account yesterday but nothing's showing up yet. Does anyone know how many business days it typically takes for funds to transfer from the PA UC Money Network card to a personal bank account? Is it different for weekends? Really stressed about making rent on time.

Thanks. That's cutting it close for my rent deadline. Do you know if there's any way to speed it up? Really don't want to pay late fees.

PA Money Network card transfers typically take 2-3 business days for most banks. The process is: 1) You initiate the transfer, 2) Money Network processes it (usually same day if before 3pm), 3) ACH network handles the transfer, 4) Your bank posts the deposit. Weekends and federal holidays don't count as business days. If you initiated it yesterday and need it urgently, you could potentially: 1. Use the Money Network card directly for purchases 2. Withdraw cash at an ATM (check your free withdrawal limits) 3. Ask your landlord if they accept debit card payments For future reference, plan transfers at least 4-5 business days before you need the funds to be safe.

This is so helpful, thank you! I'll try calling my landlord about using the card directly. I didn't realize the transfer would take so long. Really appreciate the detailed explanation.

My cousin had the same problem last month. His rent was due and the transfer was taking forever. Turns out if you do it on a Friday it takes even longer because of the weekend. He ended up just taking cash out at the ATM and paying that way.

That's a good point about Fridays. I always avoid initiating any UC-related transfers late in the week. One thing to watch for with ATM withdrawals - Money Network only allows $500 per day at ATMs, so if your rent is higher than that, you'd need multiple days to withdraw enough.

THE MONEY NETWORK CARD IS COMPLETE GARBAGE!!! I've been dealing with them for MONTHS and transfers are ALWAYS delayed!!! One time it took SIX DAYS for my money to show up in my account. SIX DAYS!!! And when I called to complain they gave me some nonsense about "processing times" and "banking networks." It's MY MONEY and I shouldn't have to wait a WEEK to access it!!! The whole PA UC payment system is broken!!

Yep. Had the same issues. Try explaining to your landlord why your rent is late because the state's payment system is stuck in 2005 lol

I've been dealing with PA UC for about 9 months now, and I've found that transfers from Money Network to my credit union take exactly 3 business days every single time. If you need the money faster, I would recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com) - they have a service that can help you reach a PA UC agent directly to see if there are any options for expediting transfers in emergency situations. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. I used them when I had an issue with my card being frozen once and they got me connected to an agent in less than an hour when I'd been trying for days.

I didn't know you could call about speeding up transfers! I'll check out that video. At this point I'm willing to try anything to make sure I can pay rent on time.

Here's something important that nobody mentioned yet - the FIRST transfer you make from a Money Network card to your bank account often takes longer (3-5 business days) because they're verifying your banking details. After that initial transfer, subsequent transfers typically process faster (2-3 business days). Also, transfers initiated before 10:30 AM EST on business days usually get processed that same day. Anything after that cutoff time gets processed the next business day, which adds another day to your wait time.

Wish someone told me about the 10:30am cutoff before! No wonder my transfers always took forever since I always did them in the evening after work.

No, there's no fee for transferring from your Money Network card to your bank account. That's completely free. The only fees are for certain ATM withdrawals (if you use out-of-network ATMs) or if you request a paper statement. Direct bank transfers are fee-free.

Update for anyone who finds this post in the future: My money finally showed up in my bank account today, so it took exactly 3 business days (Thursday to Tuesday). I was also able to call my landlord and explain the situation, and they agreed to waive the late fee as long as I pay by Wednesday. Lesson learned - I'll start transfers much earlier next time!

Pro tip for anyone else dealing with this - if you have a Wells Fargo account, their transfers from Money Network actually process faster than most other banks. I usually get mine in 2 business days instead of 3. Also, if you're really in a bind for rent money, some landlords will accept Zelle payments, and you can add your Money Network card as a debit card in Zelle for instant transfers (though there might be daily limits). Just another option to consider for future emergencies!
