How long after PA UC appeal hearing until I get a determination? Waited 5 days already

mine took 11 days but my friend got hers in 4 days so who knows lol

You'll probably be waiting 2-3 weeks minimum. The UC system is COMPLETELY OVERWHELMED right now. My appeal determination took 19 days and that was considered "fast" according to the lady I finally got through to!!! The system is BROKEN!!

The standard timeframe for receiving an appeal decision is generally 7-14 calendar days after your hearing. However, this can vary based on the complexity of your case and the referee's current caseload. A few important points: 1. Continue filing your weekly certifications even while waiting for the decision 2. Check both your dashboard AND your physical mail (sometimes determinations arrive by mail first) 3. If approved, you'll receive all eligible back payments for the weeks you properly certified If it goes beyond 15 business days, you can call the UC Service Center to inquire about the status, though getting through can be challenging.

I had my appeal hearing back in February for something similar (attendance policy violation that I didn't think was fair). Got my determination letter exactly 8 days after. referee ruled in my favor and I got backpay for all 6 weeks I had certified for while waiting. Just keep doing your weekly certs and hang in there!

wait did the referee tell you anything at the end of your hearing? at mine she said she was ruling in my favor right then and there but it still took 10 days for it to show up online

One additional thing to be aware of: if you win your appeal, your employer has 15 days to file their own appeal of that decision. This doesn't happen often, but it's good to be prepared for that possibility. Even if they do appeal, you should still receive benefits while their appeal is being processed unless a stay is specifically ordered (which is rare).

i got so tired of waiting i just got a new job lol. worked out better anyway. but my determination came like 3 weeks after my hearing and by then i didnt even care anymore

Update: Just got my determination in the mail today! 8 days after the hearing. The referee ruled in my favor! So relieved. Now just waiting for the payments to hit my account. Thanks everyone for your help and support!
