Where to find NY unemployment award letter online? Can't locate it anywhere
I've been searching all over my NY unemployment account but can't seem to find my monetary determination/award letter anywhere. I need it to verify my benefit amount for my landlord. I've clicked through every tab in my account and even tried the document section, but nothing shows up. Am I missing something obvious? Where exactly can I find this letter in the online portal? Thanks for any help!

•Thanks! I looked in messages but didn't see anything related to an award letter. How far back should I be looking? My claim started about 3 weeks ago.

The Monetary Determination Letter (what most people call the 'award letter') should be in your Messages inbox in your NY.gov account. If you log in to your account, go to 'My Online Services' then click 'Unemployment Services' and then 'Go to My Inbox.' It's usually titled something like 'Monetary Determination' or 'Monetary Benefit Determination.' If it's been more than 7-10 days since you filed and you don't see it, it could be one of these issues: 1) You might be looking in the wrong section (check both Messages AND Documents) 2) There might be an issue with your claim that's delaying the determination 3) The system might have glitched (happens more than they admit

•Thank you for the detailed explanation! I've checked both Messages and Documents sections multiple times. My claim was approved and I've been receiving payments for 2 weeks now, but I still can't find that letter anywhere. Is there any way to request a copy or have it resent?

Had the same issue last month! If you've already been approved and getting payments but can't find the letter, there's actually a separate section called "Determination History" that's kinda hidden. Go to your dashboard, then look for a small link near the bottom that says "View Payment History" - from there you should see another tab or link for "Determination History" and you can download the PDF from there.

•I'll look for that right now! I don't remember seeing a "Determination History" link but I'll check again. Fingers crossed!

Sometimes these documents aren't as easy to find as they should be. Check under 'Correspondence' rather than 'Documents' - they use different categories that aren't always intuitive. Also, make sure you're looking at the correct claim if you've had multiple claims in the past. If you still can't find it, you may need to contact NYSDOL directly. Unfortunately, their phone lines are notoriously difficult to get through. When I needed to resolve an issue with missing documents, I used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me skip the phone wait times. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE After getting through to a representative, they can resend your monetary determination letter or tell you exactly where to find it in your online account.

•I second this!! I wasted DAYS trying to get through on the phone about a missing document issue. My sister told me about Claimyr and I got through in like 20 minutes instead of spending hours redialing. The rep told me there was actually a glitch in their system that was preventing some documents from showing up for certain users, and they fixed it on their end.

Not to confuse things more, but are you looking for the monetary determination letter or the official benefit rate calculation? They're technically different documents. The benefit rate one is what most landlords actually want because it shows the weekly amount you'll receive. Just want to make sure you're looking for the right thing!

•Honestly I'm not sure which one my landlord needs - probably whichever one shows my weekly benefit amount. He just asked for proof of my unemployment income. Is the benefit rate calculation in a different location than the determination letter?

For your landlord, either document will work as they both show your weekly benefit amount. The Monetary Determination letter is more comprehensive (several pages) while the Benefit Rate Statement is usually a single page with just the essential information. One other thing to try - go to the payment history section, and sometimes there's a link there to view/print a benefit statement. This is different from the determination letters but would still show your approved weekly amount, which is likely all your landlord needs. As a last resort, you can also take screenshots of your payment history showing the consistent weekly benefit amounts being deposited, though a proper letter is always better for official purposes.

•Thank you! I found it! It was buried in the payment history section like you said. There was a tiny link called "View Benefit Details" that I completely missed before. From there I was able to download a PDF of my benefit statement showing my weekly amount. Really appreciate everyone's help!

THEIR WEBSITE IS DELIBERATELY CONFUSING!!! I spent WEEKS trying to find my documents when I filed back in January. The UI system is DESIGNED to make it hard to find things so people give up. I had to call them SEVENTEEN TIMES before someone finally told me where to find my documents. They keep changing the interface without telling anyone and then blame US when we can't find anything. It's a disgrace how they treat people who are already struggling!!

UPDATE: I wanted to thank everyone for their help! I finally found what I needed. For anyone else looking for their award letter/benefit statement, check the payment history section. There's a small link called "View Benefit Details" that's easy to miss. From there you can download a PDF showing your weekly benefit amount. My landlord accepted this as proof of income!

•Great! Glad you found it! Yeah that link is super easy to miss - I think they updated the interface recently and made it even harder to find. Might be worth bookmarking that page in case you need it again!
