New York Unemployment fraud from 2020 holding up my new claim - waiting 3 months with no income
Filed for unemployment in July. Found out someone filed fraud on my account during 2020 pandemic. Completed Real ID and fraud form. Talked to fraud department in September, they said final verification call would come in 3-4 weeks. Its been 4 weeks now and no call. Going on 3 months with no income and 2 kids to support. Anyone else deal with this? Need help speeding this up.

same exact thing happened to me last year. took 5 months to resolve but keep pushing! what worked for me was calling every single day until someone finally pushed it through. its brutal but dont give up

Found a way to actually get through to someone! Used this service called claimyr.com that calls and waits on hold then connects you when they get someone. Costs $20 but totally worth it after trying to call for weeks. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•$20 seems steep just to get someone on the phone

Contact your state assembly person ASAP! They can actually help push these claims through. Google your district rep and email their office. They usually respond within 24-48 hrs

Listen up because this is exactly what you need to do to get this resolved: First, document everything - dates, names of reps, call reference numbers. Second, file a complaint with the DOL Inspector General online. Third, reach out to your state rep like others mentioned. Fourth, use claimyr.com to get through to an agent (yes it costs money but its worth it). Fifth, when you get someone on the phone, ask for a supervisor immediately - regular reps cant help with fraud cases. Keep pushing until someone helps. Don't take no for an answer. The system is designed to wear you down but stay strong! Been there done that and finally got my money after 4 months of hell.
