New York Unemployment claim taking forever - got through to someone finally
Been waiting since July for my unemployment to be approved. Finally got through to someone today. They said my case is assigned to a worker but taking longer since its not a typical lack of work situation. Hoping this helps others waiting too.

Hey I found a way to get through! Used this site claimyr.com - it calls and waits on hold then connects you when someone picks up. Costs $20 but worth it instead of calling hundreds of times. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Let me give you all the details on dealing with non-standard claims based on my experience working with NY unemployment claims: First, these cases typically take longer because they require manual review. The system is designed for straightforward layoffs, not complex situations. Best ways to speed things up: 1. Keep detailed documentation of everything 2. Use claimyr.com to get through to an agent (saves hours of calling) 3. Ask specifically for a claim specialist when you get through 4. Follow up every 2 weeks 5. Document every conversation The key is persistence and proper documentation. Non-standard cases can take 2-3 months but stay on top of it!
