Received NY DOL message that my UI claim can now be paid - when will direct deposit arrive?
Just got a message from unemployment saying my claim can now be paid. Screenshot attached. The message says: "Thank you for your patience. We have determined that your unemployment insurance (UI) claim can now be paid. If you have not already, you will soon receive a letter in the mail telling you how much you will receive each week. If you provided bank account information, your benefits will be deposited there. If you did not provide bank account information, you will receive a debit card from KeyBank by mail within three weeks." Does this mean I'm officially approved for unemployment? Has anyone else gotten this exact message before? How long after receiving this notice did you actually see the money deposited? I provided my direct deposit information already, so I'm wondering if I'll get it faster than the three weeks mentioned for the debit card option. The message is from "WE ARE YOUR DOL, NEW YORK Department of Labor" at the top.

Yes! Congrats! You're approved. You should get your payment in 2-3 business days if you set up direct deposit. If you're getting the KeyBank card, it'll take about 2-3 weeks for the card to come in the mail.

Your officially in! Make sure you claim every week between Sunday and Saturday. Set a reminder on ur phone cause if u miss a week they'll make u call to fix it and getting through is impossible unless u use that claimyr service

Congrats Logan! 🎉 That message definitely means you're approved. I got the same exact message last month and my first payment came through direct deposit in about 2 business days. Just make sure you keep certifying every week and don't miss any - the system is super strict about that. Also heads up, sometimes the first payment might be a little delayed but after that they come pretty regularly. Good luck!
