Received NY DOL message that my UI claim can now be paid - when will direct deposit arrive?
Just got a message from unemployment saying my claim can now be paid. Screenshot attached. The message says: "Thank you for your patience. We have determined that your unemployment insurance (UI) claim can now be paid. If you have not already, you will soon receive a letter in the mail telling you how much you will receive each week. If you provided bank account information, your benefits will be deposited there. If you did not provide bank account information, you will receive a debit card from KeyBank by mail within three weeks." Does this mean I'm officially approved for unemployment? Has anyone else gotten this exact message before? How long after receiving this notice did you actually see the money deposited? I provided my direct deposit information already, so I'm wondering if I'll get it faster than the three weeks mentioned for the debit card option. The message is from "WE ARE YOUR DOL, NEW YORK Department of Labor" at the top.

Yes! Congrats! You're approved. You should get your payment in 2-3 business days if you set up direct deposit. If you're getting the KeyBank card, it'll take about 2-3 weeks for the card to come in the mail.

Hey everyone - if anyone needs to actually talk to someone at unemployment, I found this website claimyr.com that calls for you and waits on hold. It costs $20 but totally worth it. They got me through to someone in like 45 mins. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Your officially in! Make sure you claim every week between Sunday and Saturday. Set a reminder on ur phone cause if u miss a week they'll make u call to fix it and getting through is impossible unless u use that claimyr service

Congrats Logan! 🎉 That message definitely means you're approved. I got the same exact message last month and my first payment came through direct deposit in about 2 business days. Just make sure you keep certifying every week and don't miss any - the system is super strict about that. Also heads up, sometimes the first payment might be a little delayed but after that they come pretty regularly. Good luck!

•Thanks for the info! That's super helpful to know about the 2 business day timeline. Did you notice any difference in timing between your first payment and the regular weekly ones after that?

That's awesome news Logan! 🎉 Yes, that message means you're officially approved for unemployment benefits. I got the exact same message about 3 months ago and my direct deposit came through in exactly 2 business days. Since you already set up direct deposit, you should definitely get it faster than the 3 weeks they mention for the debit card. Just keep an eye on your bank account over the next few days. Make sure to certify every Sunday going forward - that's super important to keep the payments coming. Welcome to the approved club!

•This is so reassuring to hear from someone who went through the exact same thing! The 2 business day timeline gives me hope. I've been so stressed about this whole process. Quick question - when you say certify every Sunday, do you mean I need to do it exactly on Sunday or just sometime during that week?

Congratulations Logan! 🎉 That message is definitely confirmation that you're approved! I went through this same process about 6 months ago and got the identical message. Since you already have direct deposit set up, you should see your first payment within 2-3 business days - much faster than the KeyBank card option. Just a heads up though, sometimes the very first payment can take an extra day or two compared to your regular weekly payments after that. Make sure you have your weekly certification set up and don't miss any weeks! The system is pretty unforgiving if you forget to certify. You're in the home stretch now!

•Thanks Mary! This is exactly what I needed to hear. The extra day or two for the first payment makes total sense - I'll try to be patient even though I'm anxious to see it hit my account 😅 Already have my weekly certification reminder set up so I don't mess this up. Appreciate everyone sharing their experiences, it really helps calm the nerves!

That's amazing news Logan! 🎉 Yes, that message is your official approval confirmation! I got the exact same notification about 4 months ago. Since you already have direct deposit set up, you should see your first payment hit your account within 2-3 business days - way faster than waiting for the KeyBank card. Just a heads up, my first payment took about 3 days but after that the weekly ones were super consistent, usually showing up on Tuesdays. Make sure you don't forget to certify every week (I set a Sunday reminder on my phone) because missing even one week is a huge headache to fix. You're basically at the finish line now - congrats on getting through the approval process!

•Thanks Amina! The Tuesday timing is really helpful to know - I'll keep an eye out for it around then. It's such a relief to hear from so many people who got this exact same message and had success with it. The direct deposit timeline seems pretty consistent across everyone's experiences which is reassuring. Already got my Sunday certification reminder set and ready to go! 🙏

Huge congrats Logan! 🎉 That message is definitely your official approval - you made it through! I got the exact same notification about 2 months ago and my direct deposit showed up in exactly 2 business days. Since you already have DD set up, you'll definitely get it way faster than the KeyBank card route. Pro tip: download your bank's app if you don't have it already so you can check for the deposit easily. And yeah, definitely set that weekly certification reminder - I do mine every Sunday morning with my coffee lol. The waiting is almost over!

•Thanks Emily! The 2 business day timeline is so consistent across everyone's experiences - that's really encouraging! I actually already have my bank app downloaded and have been checking it obsessively 😅 Love the Sunday morning coffee certification routine idea, that sounds like a good way to make it a habit. It's wild to think I'm finally at the end of this stressful process!

Congrats Logan! 🎉 That message is your golden ticket - you're officially approved! I got the exact same notification about 5 months ago and my direct deposit hit in 2 business days. Since you already have DD set up, you're definitely in the fast lane compared to the KeyBank card route. One thing I wish someone had told me - that first payment might include backpay if there was any delay in processing, so don't be surprised if it's more than your regular weekly amount. Make sure to screenshot everything for your records and set up that weekly certification reminder ASAP. You're basically done with the hard part now - just gotta keep up with the weekly check-ins! 🙌

•Thanks Daniela! That's a great point about the potential backpay - I hadn't even thought about that possibility! 😮 I'll definitely screenshot everything like you suggested. It's so helpful hearing from everyone who's been through this exact same process. The consistent 2 business day timeline across all your experiences gives me so much confidence. Can't wait to finally see that first deposit and put this stressful chapter behind me! 🤞

Congrats Logan! 🎉 That's definitely your approval confirmation! I got this exact same message about 8 weeks ago and my direct deposit came through in 2 business days just like everyone else is saying. The consistency in timing is pretty reassuring - NY DOL seems to have their DD processing down to a science. One thing that helped my anxiety during the wait was setting up mobile banking alerts so I got a notification the moment anything hit my account. Also make sure you save/screenshot that message for your records - it's good proof of your approval date if you ever need it later. You're so close to the finish line now, just gotta nail those weekly certifications! The hard part is behind you 💪

•Thanks Ethan! Great tip about setting up mobile banking alerts - I'm definitely going to do that right now so I don't miss it when it hits! 📱 Already screenshotted the approval message like you suggested. It's amazing how consistent everyone's 2 business day experience has been - really gives me confidence that NY DOL has this process figured out. I'm just so relieved to finally be at this point after all the stress and waiting. Can't wait to join the "got my first payment" club! 🎉

Amazing news Logan! 🎉 That message is 100% your official approval - you did it! I went through this same exact process about 3 months ago and got the identical notification. With direct deposit already set up, you should see your first payment in 2-3 business days max. Mine hit on day 2. Quick tip: check your account early in the morning (around 6-7 AM) - that's when NY DOL usually processes the deposits. Also, your first payment might be slightly larger if there's any backpay involved, so don't panic if the amount is different than expected. Make sure you've got that weekly certification reminder locked and loaded for Sundays - consistency is key once the payments start rolling. The hardest part is officially behind you now! 🙌

•Thanks Natalie! That's such a helpful tip about checking early morning around 6-7 AM - I'll definitely be up bright and early checking my account 😅 It's incredible how everyone's experience has been so consistent with the 2-3 day timeline. The backpay possibility is exciting too, I hadn't considered that! Already have my Sunday certification alarm set for 9 AM so I don't mess this up. This whole thread has been so reassuring after months of stress and uncertainty. Finally feels real that I made it through! 🎉

Congrats Logan! 🎉 That message is definitely your approval - you're officially in the system now! I got the exact same notification about 6 weeks ago and my direct deposit hit in exactly 2 business days. Since you already have DD set up, you should see it way faster than the KeyBank card option. Just a heads up - sometimes that first deposit comes through really early in the morning (like 5-6 AM), so don't be surprised if you wake up to a nice surprise! Make sure you screenshot that approval message for your records and definitely don't forget to certify every week. I set my reminder for Sunday at 8 AM and it's been a lifesaver. You've made it through the hardest part - the weekly routine is easy compared to the initial approval process! 💪

Logan that's fantastic news! 🎉 You're absolutely approved - that message is basically your golden ticket! I got the exact same notification from NY DOL about 7 weeks ago and my direct deposit hit my account in exactly 2 business days. Since you already have DD set up, you'll definitely see it much faster than the 3-week KeyBank card timeline they mention. Pro tip: enable push notifications on your banking app so you get alerted the moment it hits (mine came through at like 5:30 AM on day 2). Also make sure to keep certifying every single week without fail - I use a Sunday morning alarm at 7 AM and treat it like a weekly appointment. The approval was the hardest part, now it's just maintaining the routine. Congrats on making it through the process! 🙌

Congrats Logan! 🎉 That's definitely your official approval message - you made it! I got this exact same notification about a month ago and my direct deposit hit in 2 business days just like everyone else is saying. Since you already have DD set up, you should see it way sooner than that 3-week KeyBank card timeline. One tip that really helped me - check your account around 6 AM, that's usually when NY DOL processes the deposits. Also make sure you keep up with weekly certifications religiously - I do mine every Sunday at 9 AM without fail. The approval was definitely the hardest part, now it's just staying consistent with the weekly routine. You're basically at the finish line now! 💪

I'm definitely going to be checking bright and early! 😅 The 9 AM Sunday certification routine sounds perfect too. Congrats Logan! 🎉 That's definitely your approval confirmation - you're officially in! I got the exact same message about 10 weeks ago and my direct deposit showed up in 2 business days. Since you already have direct deposit set up, you'll get it way faster than the KeyBank card option. Just a heads up - mine actually came through around 4 AM on the second day, so don't be surprised if you wake up to a nice surprise! Make sure you screenshot that message for your records and set up weekly certification reminders. I do mine every Sunday at 8:30 AM and haven't missed one yet. The hardest part is behind you now - just gotta stay consistent with the weekly check-ins. Welcome to the approved club! 🙌
