New York Unemployment: Can I get benefits if I quit my job and haven't found work?
Need info about quitting and unemployment. Left my job due to a hostile work environment. Been trying to find work for weeks but no luck. Wondering if I can still file for benefits since I quit. Anyone else been through this?

You can file but its tricky. You need to prove you had a good reason to quit (like harassment, unsafe conditions, etc). Document everything! Keep emails texts whatever shows why you HAD to leave. Without proof ur probably gonna get denied 🤷♀️

Hey I was in the same situation! Found a way to actually get someone on the phone using claimyr.com. It costs $20 but they dial and wait on hold, then connect you when an agent picks up. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% legit! Used it twice already. Way better than calling for hours myself

Absolutely NOT worth trying unless u have solid proof of a hostile environment. They gonna make u jump through hoops and probably deny u anyway. Save urself the headache

Listen up because this is important: You CAN get benefits after quitting but you need to meet specific criteria. Here's what you need to know: First, you need 'good cause' for quitting. This includes: - Harassment or discrimination - Unsafe working conditions - Major changes to your job duties - Medical reasons (with documentation) You MUST have documentation. Save everything. File your claim immediately and be 100% honest. When they ask why you quit, be specific and professional. Quick tip: Use claimyr.com to get through to an agent faster. Worth the $20 to avoid hours on hold. Expect your case to take longer than normal because they investigate quit cases more thoroughly. Don't give up! 💪
