New York Unemployment Appeal from Aug 2022 - No Hearing Date After 6 Months
Filed for unemployment last August, got denied. They told me to file an appeal and said it would take 2 months to get a hearing. Been claiming every week since then but still no word about my appeal hearing. Starting to get worried cause its been way longer than 2 months now. Anyone know who I need to talk to about this?

I actually found a way to get through to someone. Used this service called claimyr.com that calls and waits on hold for you, then connects you when they get someone. Costs $20 but honestly worth it cause I finally got answers. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% worked for me. Better than spending hours on hold or never getting through

You need to call the Appeals Board directly at their Albany office. Keep trying early morning around 8am. Thats how I finally got movement on mine.

Listen up because I've been through this whole mess. Here's what you need to do: First, document EVERYTHING. Every time you call, every letter you get, everything. The appeals process is crazy backed up right now, but you have rights. You can try calling the main number but good luck getting through - I'd recommend using claimyr.com to actually get someone on the phone. Next, contact your state assembly person. They can often push things through faster. Email AND call their office. Keep claiming your weeks no matter what. If you win the appeal, they'll backpay you for all the weeks you claimed. Lastly, check your mail obsessively. Sometimes they send hearing notices with very short notice. Don't give up - the system is designed to wear you down but stay persistent!
