NYSDOL Unemployment: No Payments After Filing Twice and ID.me Verification
I'm so frustrated with the unemployment system right now. I've filed my weekly claims twice now, once at the end of February and again in late April, but I still haven't received any payments. I even went through the whole ID.me verification process at the end of April, thinking that would speed things up. But here I am, still waiting. Has anyone else experienced these long delays? Any advice on how to get this sorted out? I'm starting to worry about how I'm going to pay my bills.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep calling until you get through. It's a pain, but it might be your best bet to get answers.

I've tried calling so many times, but I always get stuck on hold forever. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and be ready to dial. It's still a gamble, but your odds are better.

I once called persistently for an entire week before I got through. It's tiring but sometimes it just takes a little luck.

Pro tip: if you're really desperate, you can try reaching out to your state representative or senator's office. Sometimes they can help push things along. It's worth a shot!

The ID.me verification can take a while to process. When I did mine, it took about 2 weeks before my account was fully updated. Hang in there!

Is anyone else lowkey impressed by how consistently inconsistent the unemployment system is? Like, they've really mastered the art of chaos. 10/10 for commitment to the bit π

This whole situation is a joke. The government expects us to live on air while they take their sweet time processing our claims. It's like they forget we have bills to pay and families to feed. π€¬

It's not the government workers' fault tho. They're overwhelmed too. Blame the politicians who underfunded the system for years.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I was desperate enough to try anything. It's not cheap, but it saved me hours of frustration.

How long did you have to wait once the call was transferred to you?

Claimyr has been helpful for some, but it's important to weigh the cost versus the potential benefits. It might be worth it if youβve been waiting forever.

Considering youβve already gone through the ID.me verification process and are still facing delays, it's understandable to be frustrated. While the system may be overwhelmed due to unprecedented claims, there are steps you can take. Consider using tools like Claimyr, which, although it comes with a cost, have been successful for many in reducing their wait time to speak with an unemployment agent. However, balance the cost against your financial situation as it might not be the best choice for everyone. Another pivotal action is to contact state representatives who can sometimes expedite the process. Additionally, ensure youβre compliant with all requests from the unemployment office, checking your online account and email (including spam) for any pending requests. Participate in online forums and social media groups to keep informed about any system changes or useful tips. While the situation is challenging, perseverance and utilizing every available resource can eventually lead to a resolution.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of uploading them online? I heard it might be faster, but idk if that's just an urban legend at this point lol

I faxed mine and it seemed to go through faster. It might be worth a try if you're having trouble uploading.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The system is totally overwhelmed. I had to wait almost 2 months for my first payment. It's ridiculous how they expect people to survive without income for so long.

Hey OP, hang in there. I know it feels hopeless, but it will get sorted eventually. In the meantime, check if there are any local food banks or assistance programs in your area. They might be able to help tide you over until the payments come through. Sending good vibes your way! β€οΈ

Here's what you need to do to get this sorted out: 1. Document everything: Keep a record of all your claim dates, the date you completed ID.me verification, and any communication you've had with the unemployment office. 2. Be persistent with calls: Yes, it's frustrating, but keep trying to get through on the phone. Early morning or late afternoon tend to be less busy. 3. Reach out to your local representative: Sometimes they can help expedite claims or get answers from the unemployment office. 4. Check your online account regularly: Sometimes there are updates or requests for additional information that you might miss if you're not checking. 5. Consider filing an appeal: If it's been an unreasonable amount of time, you might need to file an appeal to get your case reviewed. 6. Join unemployment support groups on social media: They often have good tips and can alert you to any system updates or changes. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed, but keep pushing. You'll get your money eventually!

This is great advice. I'd add: make sure your bank info is correct in the system. I've seen people wait forever only to find out payments were being sent to an old account.
