NYSDOL Unemployment: Can't log in to finish application - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating time with my unemployment application. I'm trying to finish it up but I can't even log in to the online system. Has anyone else run into this problem? It's driving me crazy and I don't know what to do next. Any advice would be appreciated!

Have you tried accessing the site during off-peak hours? Like really early in the morning or late at night? Sometimes that helps with the login issues.

I tried that once and it actually worked. Feels like we have to strategize just to get basic help!

Claimyr's service sounds interesting for those who are pressed for time. However, it's important to weigh the cost against the potential time saved. If you can't afford the $20, the traditional method of calling multiple times might still workβyou just need to be persistent.

That's a good point. It's nice to have options, but it shouldn't feel like we're forced into them.

Guys, I think I figured it out. The website only works if you're wearing your lucky socks and standing on one foot while singing the national anthem backwards. Trust me, I'm an expert. π§¦πΊπΈπΆ

Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with EDD for MONTHS now, and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what you need to do: 1. Try logging in using a different browser. Sometimes Chrome works, sometimes it's Firefox. 2. If that doesn't work, clear your cache and cookies. Then try again. 3. Still no luck? Use your phone's data instead of WiFi. I know it sounds weird, but it worked for me. 4. If all else fails, you gotta call. But don't just call once. Call multiple times a day, every day. 5. Keep a log of who you talk to and what they say. You'll need it. 6. If you get disconnected, immediately call back. Sometimes you'll get lucky and get right through. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is designed to wear you down, but we're tougher than that. πͺ

The fact that we need a freaking strategy guide to use a government service is ridiculous π€‘

This advice is gold. It's sad but true, we need to be our own advocates and troubleshooters.

Hey, I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken π€¦ββοΈ

I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, ya know?

It's a shame that we have to resort to paid services for public services, but at least it's an option for those who can afford it.

Has anyone else noticed that the site seems to work better on certain days? I swear it's like playing the lottery trying to log in on Mondays.

Have you checked if your account is locked? Sometimes they lock it after too many failed attempts

It might also be a good idea to check if there's any scheduled maintenance on the site. Sometimes they announce it on their homepage.

Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.

I didn't even know that was an option. How do I find out who my rep is?

Just google "[your city] state representative". They usually have a contact form on their website. Good luck!

I had the same issue last month. Turns out my account was deactivated because I hadn't logged in for a while. You might need to call them to reactivate it.

Oh great, another thing to deal with π How long did you have to wait on hold?

If you're still having trouble, don't forget to check the user forums or social media pages related to your state's unemployment office. Sometimes they share updates or tips there.
