NYSDOL unemployment app freezing - How to get past and reach a person?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment application. The app keeps freezing up at a certain point and I can't seem to get past it. I've tried on my phone and computer, but no luck. Anyone else run into this? Any tips on how to get through to an actual person? I'm getting pretty frustrated here.

Pro tip: If you're gonna call, do it on a Tuesday. For some reason, I always have better luck on Tuesdays. Maybe all the Monday people gave up by then? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Interesting! I'll give it a shot next Tuesday. Thanks for the tip!

It's like Tuesdays are the sweet spot for less call volume. Strange but if it works, it works!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery!

Sounds sketchy. How do we know this isn't a scam?

I get the skepticism, but I promise it's legit. I was desperate and tried it. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

I tried Claimyr as well, and it worked for me too. But I agree, the cost can be a barrier. I guess it depends on how desperate you are for assistance.

Have you tried applying at different times of the day? I noticed the site works better late at night or early morning when there's less traffic.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD website is a total nightmare. I had the same issue last month. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps.

Clearing the cache really does the trick sometimes. Also, try switching from Wi-Fi to direct ethernet connection if you're on a desktop; it might help with the loading issues.

I'm in the same boat, buddy. Been trying to file for weeks now. This whole system is a joke. Anyone know if our local representatives can help with this stuff?

Actually, yes! I reached out to my state assembly member and their office was super helpful. Give it a try!

Yep, I second this. They have special channels to EDD. Def worth a shot.

Getting your representative involved can definitely help. Sometimes they have direct contacts who can expedite the process.

guys. i finaly got through after 3 weeks of trying. heres what worked for me: 1. use incognito mode 2. fill out the form as fast as u can (like speedrun that sh*t) 3. cross ur fingers and sacrifice a goat to the EDD gods

Lost it at "sacrifice a goat" ๐Ÿ˜‚ But for real, congrats on getting through!

Incognito mode is actually a solid tip! It can prevent some of the data conflicts that might cause issues.

If you're dealing with issues on the unemployment application, know that you're not alone. Many have faced similar challenges due to the outdated EDD system. While Claimyr offers a legitimate service to expedite phone calls and may be worth the cost to save time, it's not the only solution. Free methods like clearing cache, trying different browsers, and contacting representatives may also work. You might also consider less conventional strategies, like using incognito mode or avoiding peak traffic times. Reporting these issues through formal complaints could bring long-term improvements. Ultimately, leveraging a combination of these methods can increase your chances of success.

Classic EDD BS. Their system is so outdated, it's ridiculous. I swear they're still running on Windows 95 or something. ๐Ÿ™„

ikr? It's like they don't want us to get our benefits. Conspiracy theory time: maybe that's the point ๐Ÿค”

Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with EDD for months now, and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what you need to do: 1. Try different browsers. Sometimes Chrome works, sometimes it's Firefox. 2. Clear your cache and cookies before each attempt. 3. Use a desktop computer if possible, the mobile site is even worse. 4. If you get stuck, don't hit back. Start over from the beginning. 5. Keep a record of every attempt, including screenshots of error messages. 6. If all else fails, you might need to call. Be prepared to wait for hours. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is designed to be frustrating, but you've got this. ๐Ÿ’ช

Great advice! I'd add: if you do call, try to do it right when they open. You might have a better chance of getting through.

Having a comprehensive guide like this is so helpful. I'd also recommend taking screenshots of successful submissions too, just in case you need to prove you did submit something.

Has anyone tried filing a complaint with the state? This is getting ridiculous. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to.

0 coins

-

Hunter Hampton

Good luck with that. The bureaucracy is real. You'll probably get your benefits before they even read your complaint.

I mean, it can't hurt to try. Maybe if enough of us complain, they'll actually do something about it.

Complaining to the state might seem like a long shot, but if enough people do it, it could lead to legislative change.
