EDD application stuck midway - only agent can fix but can't reach anyone! Help!
I'm so frustrated with the unemployment application process. I got confused halfway through filling out the form and now I can't complete it. The worst part is that only an agent can fix the application, but I can't get through to anyone on the phone. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to actually reach a human being at the unemployment office?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The unemployment system is a total mess right now. I spent weeks trying to get through to someone. It's like they don't want us to actually get the benefits we're entitled to. 🤬

Preach! 🙌 Its like were playing a game of chance everytime we call. I swear they have ONE person answering phones for the entire state.

I know right? It's ridiculous. I've been calling for 3 weeks straight and still haven't gotten through. Starting to feel like a full-time job just trying to file for unemployment.

Exactly! And don't even get me started on the website. It's like it was designed in 1995 and never updated. 💀

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but I promise it's legit. I was desperate after weeks of trying and it actually worked. Worth every penny to finally get my issue resolved.

How long did you have to wait once you used the service? Did they connect you right away?

It took about 2 hours total, but I didn't have to sit by the phone. They called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than wasting a whole day redialing!

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through or at least get you in touch with the right person at the unemployment office.

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. I mean like, be dialing at 7:59:59 AM. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better of getting through.

This! 👆 Also, try calling on Wednesdays. For some reason, it seems to be their least busy day.

I'm in the same boat, OP. It's so frustrating. I've been trying to fix an issue with my claim for over a month now. The system is completely broken. 😫

It's crazy how common this seems to be. Makes me feel a little better knowing I'm not alone, but also... why is it THIS bad??

Okay, here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down every time you try to call, every error message you get, everything. 2. Keep trying the phone, but also use their online contact form if they have one. Sometimes you can get a response that way. 3. Reach out to your state representative AND your state senator. Send them a detailed email explaining your situation. 4. If you're really desperate, consider using a paid service like the one mentioned above. It sucks to have to pay, but sometimes it's worth it to get things moving. 5. Check if there are any in-person unemployment offices open. Some states are reopening them. 6. Join Facebook groups or other online communities for unemployment in your state. Sometimes people share insider tips or direct contact info for helpful employees. 7. If all else fails, consider reaching out to local media. Sometimes a call from a reporter can magically fix things. Hang in there, OP. The system is a mess, but persistence usually pays off eventually.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! I'm definitely going to try reaching out to my rep and senator. Hadn't even thought of that.
