Can't reach UI rep for unemployment application - help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment insurance application. I tried to call the office but couldn't get through to a representative. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to actually speak with someone there?

I found a way to solve unemployment office contact issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9Y6i5u9NRU

Ugh, welcome to the club. I've been trying to reach them for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits or something 🙄

Seriously! It's like they're purposely making it difficult. I've heard rumors they're understaffed, but come on...

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me days of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

Not long at all! Maybe 30 minutes? Way better than the hours I spent before

Pro tip: Try calling right when they open. I managed to get through after a few attempts doing this. Good luck!

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local representative? I've heard some people have had success going that route when they can't get through to UI directly.

I did this! It took a while, but my rep's office eventually helped me get in touch with someone at UI. Def worth a shot

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning, like 5 minutes before they open 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial 3. Keep doing this until you get into the queue 4. Once in the queue, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long it takes 5. Have all your info ready when you finally get through It's a pain, but persistence is key. Took me about 3 days of trying this method before I finally got through. Hope this helps someone!

Thank you so much for the detailed advice! I'll definitely give this a try. Did you have to wait on hold for a long time once you got into the queue?

Yeah, I was on hold for about 2 hours. Bring a book or something to keep you occupied lol

This is great advice. I'd add: use a phone with a good speaker so you can multitask while waiting!

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous we have to jump through all these hoops just to access a service we're entitled to? The whole system needs an overhaul smh

For real. In 2023, there's no excuse for not having a better online system
