EDD: Can't get through to reopen unemployment claim. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to reopen my unemployment claim but I'm having trouble getting through. I called the number but it didn't go through. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips on how to actually reach someone at the unemployment office?

I found a way to solve unemployment claim reopening difficulties, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYvfaOzPnQY

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 I've been trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits.

Seriously! It's like they're playing hide and seek with our money. 🤡

I know right? It's so frustrating. I've been calling every day for the past two weeks and still nothing.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I've heard that's the best time to get through.

I'll give that a shot. What time do they open?

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

Can you explain more about how it works? Is it legit?

Sure! You just go to their website, choose the EDD line, pay, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings. It's that simple.

Here's what I've learned after months of dealing with this: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Try different times of day. Early morning and late afternoon seem to work best. 3. Use the online portal if possible. Sometimes you can reopen your claim there. 4. If you get through, be super nice to the rep. They're dealing with a lot too. 5. Have all your info ready when you call. It speeds things up. 6. Consider reaching out to your local representative. They can sometimes help. 7. Join Facebook groups for unemployment support. Lots of good tips there. Hang in there, OP. It's a broken system, but don't give up!

Trust me, I know. Took me 3 weeks to get through. But it'll happen eventually!

PRO TIP: If you get through and they put you on hold, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long it takes. I waited 4 hours once but finally got my issue resolved.

4 HOURS?! 😱 That's insane!

Yep, it was brutal. But better than calling back 100 times!

Anyone else think its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get what we're entitled to? The whole system needs an overhaul.

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're purposely making it difficult.

For real. We pay into this system, and then when we need it, it's a nightmare to access.
