NYSDOL Unemployment: Approved Claim Payment Delayed for Weeks - What to Do?

Has anyone else been waiting forever for their approved claim payment? I filed my claim and it got approved weeks ago, but I still haven't seen a dime. This is getting ridiculous. I'm starting to worry that something went wrong or they forgot about me. Anyone else in the same boat or know what I should do next?

Zara Rashid

Update: I finally got through to someone! They said there was a "processing delay" whatever that means. They're supposedly expediting it now. Fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž

"Processing delay" is their way of saying "we forgot about you" lol. But glad you're making progress!

Sometimes these delays happen due to system updates or errors, but it's good they are expediting it now.

Pro tip: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online status change. You never know when you'll need to prove something later.

Yes! I've had to show my call logs and emails more than once. Keep everything organized.

Anyone else notice how they always seem to have these issues right when rent is due? It's like they time it on purpose to stress us out ๐Ÿ™„

It's definitely stressful, especially with bills that don't wait for anyone.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you need to bug them to get things moving.

I've been trying to call for days but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Calling is a joke. I spent 3 hours on hold yesterday and then got disconnected. ๐Ÿคฎ

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

Another tip is to try calling during off-peak hours, sometimes late afternoon calls get through faster.

am i the only 1 who thinks the whole system is broken? like, why do we have to jump through so many hoops just to get what we're owed? ๐Ÿ˜ค

Preach! ๐Ÿ™Œ The system is designed to wear us down so we give up.

It's not perfect, but at least we have something. Some countries don't even have unemployment benefits.

It's true, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't push for improvements. Unemployment insurance should be more efficient.

Has anyone tried going to the office in person? I'm thinking about doing that tomorrow.

Dylan Cooper

I tried last week. They're not letting people in without an appointment, and guess what? You can't make an appointment without talking to someone on the phone first. It's a catch-22.

Ugh, seriously? That's so messed up. Thanks for saving me a trip.

Sometimes they have drop boxes for submitting documents. Maybe you can leave a note with your contact info?

One helpful tool you might want to consider is Claimyr. It's a service that helps you connect with unemployment offices for a fee, and while it does cost money, many have found it effective in getting through to an actual person. However, itโ€™s important to weigh the cost against the potential benefit and your financial situation. Also, try to explore other free avenues before opting for paid services. Always ensure any service you use is legitimate. Claimyr has received positive reviews, but it's always good to read up on the latest feedback from users to ensure it still meets your needs.

Great point about weighing the cost. It's not ideal to have to pay, but if it helps get things moving, it might be worth it.

Guys, I've been through this before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your claim status online. Sometimes there's a hold you don't know about. 2. Make sure all your certifications are up to date. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try contacting them through social media or email. 4. As a last resort, reach out to your local representative. They can sometimes expedite things. Remember, the system is overloaded right now, so patience is key. But don't just sit back and wait - be proactive!

This is solid advice. Worked for me last year when I was in the same situation.

Also, make sure you keep all your documents in order in case they ask for additional verification.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

$20 just to talk to someone? That sounds like a scam.

Not a scam at all. I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did you have to wait after using this service?

I've used Claimyr too, and while it worked, I feel like they should be offering a cheaper or even free service given the current situation.

I heard they're updating the system next month. Hopefully that'll speed things up for everyone still waiting.

Yeah right, every time they "update" something it just creates more problems ๐Ÿ™„

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been waiting for almost 2 months now. It's like they approve us just to make us feel better, but the money never comes. ๐Ÿคก

I know it's frustrating, but keep hanging in there. Have you checked if there are any issues with your bank account details on file?
