NYDOL website down, can't certify for 3 weeks. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble getting paid for the last few weeks. The website wasn't working and I couldn't get through to anyone on the phone for help. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm worried about missing out on my benefits for those weeks.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The system has been a nightmare lately. Have you tried calling first thing in the morning? Sometimes that works better.

I've tried calling at different times, but no luck. It's so frustrating!

Early morning calls are hit or miss. I had better luck calling right before they close, believe it or not.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did you have to wait before getting connected?

It took about an hour, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through when the system is being difficult.

This is ridiculous. The NYDOL needs to get their act together. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get our benefits. 🤬

I heard they're updating their systems soon. Hopefully that'll make things easier.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of when you try to access the website and when you call. 2. Take screenshots of error messages on the website. 3. Send emails to NYDOL explaining your situation. This creates a paper trail. 4. If you can't certify online, try the automated phone system. 5. Check your spam folder regularly for any communications from NYDOL. 6. If all else fails, consider contacting your state representative or senator. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but persistence usually pays off.

Have you checked if there were any system maintenance announcements? Sometimes they do updates that mess things up for a few days.

I didn't even think of that. I'll go back and check their announcements page. Thanks!

Pro tip: use Twitter to reach out to NYDOL. Sometimes they respond faster there than through official channels. Worth a shot!
