NYDOL claim filed, no response - what to do next?
Hey everyone, I filed an unemployment claim with NYDOL and I haven't heard anything back. No updates, no letters, nothing. It's been radio silence. Anyone else in the same boat or know what I should do next? I'm starting to get worried.

Welcome to the club, buddy. NYDOL is a black hole where claims go to die. I filed mine 3 months ago and still crickets. 🦗🦗🦗

•3 months? Amateur hour. Try 6 months of waiting. I swear they're playing eeny meeny miny moe with our claims.

•Guys, have you tried calling? I know its a pain, but sometimes you gotta be the squeaky wheel to get the grease.

•Call? LOL good one. I'd have better luck getting through to the Pope.

I feel ya, OP. The waiting game is brutal. Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update stuff there without sending notifications.

Okay, let me break it down for you: 1. First, double-check your online account. NYDOL sometimes updates info there without sending notifications. 2. If nothing there, try calling. Yes, it's a nightmare, but persistence pays off. 3. Send a secure message through your online account. Document everything. 4. If you're really stuck, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes light a fire under NYDOL. 5. Make sure you're still certifying weekly, even if you haven't heard back about your initial claim. 6. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 7. Join Facebook groups for NY unemployment. They often have good intel on what's happening. Remember, the system is overloaded, but stay persistent. Good luck!

•Quick question - how do you contact your state rep? Is there a specific way to do it for unemployment issues?

•Just google '[your area] state representative' and you should find their office contact info. Most have a form on their website for constituent services. Explain your situation clearly and they usually have staff dedicated to these issues.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds sketchy. You sure this isn't a scam?

•Nah, it's legit. I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It actually worked and I finally got through to someone who could help with my claim.

Plot twist: NYDOL is actually run by a bunch of sloths. That's why everything moves so slow. 🦥

•Hey now, don't insult sloths like that. They're way more efficient!

Serious question - has anyone had luck with the callback system? I requested one like 2 weeks ago and still nothing.

•I got a callback... 3 months after I requested it. By then I had already figured out my issue. 🤦♂️

•Pro tip: when you get the callback, if you miss it, you go right back to the end of the line. Keep your phone glued to your hand!
