I just want to put this out there and out of respect for our admin who is making this group super helpful in these dark times. Anyone here starts trolling or make fun of anyone's misfortune will get booted and exploited. To everyone else. Sending positive energy and lots of love. Thank you for this reminder! Its so easy to get frustrated with the NY unemployment system (I've been waiting 7 weeks for my claim to process) but we're all in this together. The negativity doesn't help anyone.

This is exactly the kind of community support we need. The unemployment process in NY can be incredibly stressful, especially in 2025 with all the system changes. Remember that most issues can be resolved by: 1. Double-checking your weekly certifications 2. Uploading any requested documents promptly 3. Responding to all DOL messages within 48 hours And most importantly, supporting each other through the process. We're stronger together!

•YES! And remember to screenshot EVERYTHING! I lost my entire claim history when the system glitched during maintenance last month. Had to start the whole process over because I couldn't prove what I had submitted!!!!!

•It's RIDICULOUS how complicated they make this process! The website looks like it was designed in 1995 and half the links don't even work. Why can't they just make a simple system that actually FUNCTIONS? My kids need to eat NOW, not after I figure out their byzantine system of forms and waiting periods!

THANK YOU for saying this!!!! I was on another unemployment forum and people were being SO MEAN to someone who made a simple mistake on their certification. Like we're all just trying to survive here!!!!! The NY unemployment system is confusing enough without people being jerks about it!!!!

Has anyone else noticed that the NY unemployment site is down AGAIN? Third time this month. I have to certify today and I'm worried I'll miss my window and lose a week of benefits. Why can't they fix their terrible system instead of making us suffer?

•If the system is down when you need to certify, document it with screenshots showing the error message and the date/time. You can call and explain the situation to get a retroactive certification. This happens during their system upgrades, which should be completed by tomorrow morning.

my cousin works for the labor department and says theyre super understaffed rn. like hundreds of thousands of claims and not enough people to process them. not saying its right but thats why everything takes forever
