NY unemployment form deadline confusion - email said Dec 1 but letter says today?

If your letter came after the email, you should treat TODAY as your actual deadline. The NYSDOL system is COMPLETELY BROKEN when it comes to notifications!!! I've had THREE different deadlines for the same form before. It's ridiculous and they expect us to just figure it out somehow. Then when you try calling to clarify, you can never get through to anyone. I've learned to just submit everything ASAP regardless of whatever date they claim is the deadline because they'll cut you off without warning.

I had exact same problem but with the quarterly income verification form. Email said Jan 15 deadline but paper letter said Jan 5. I went with the earlier date just to be safe. When I checked my account later it showed the Jan 5 date was correct. I think maybe they update deadlines but don't resend emails?

Quick update on deadlines - NYSDOL recently changed their DocuSign system in February 2025. Now they sometimes adjust deadlines mid-process if they're trying to clear claim backlogs. It's not ideal communication, but it's unfortunately how the system works now. As long as you submit within 24 hours of whichever notice you received last, you should be fine. They primarily want to see that you're responsive to communications.

I had to fill out that form last month too. Took me forever to figure out how to do the signature part correctly. Make sure you click the yellow tabs and actually type your name in the signature field rather than just clicking next. Mine got rejected the first time because I didn't complete all the signature spots correctly.

Update: I submitted the form last night around 9pm and got the DocuSign confirmation email. Checked my portal this morning and it shows as received! Thanks everyone for your help and quick responses. Such a relief!
