How to calculate New York Unemployment weekly benefit amount before approval?
Need help figuring out my potential unemployment benefit amount while waiting for approval. Been claiming weekly since May but still pending. Anyone know if there's a way to estimate how much I'll get? Is it based on previous salary? Don't want to waste time if the amount will be super low.

Yes! The weekly benefit amount is calculated based on your highest paid quarter in your base period. Take your highest quarter earnings and divide by 26. The max benefit is $504 per week. Hope this helps!

There's actually a calculator on the ny.gov website but its buried deep af. Go to unemployment > resources > benefit calculator. Just plug in your quarterly earnings and it'll show your weekly amount

If your claim is pending this long you need to call them asap! Try early morning or use claimyr.com to get through. Waiting since May isn't normal, something might be wrong with your claim
