How long to get WAY2GO card for NY Unemployment benefits?
I just got approved for unemployment benefits in New York, and they've already gone through. But I still haven't gotten my WAY2GO card in the mail. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to arrive? I switched to direct deposit today, but I'm worried about accessing the money that's already been sent.

It took about 2 weeks for me to get my WAY2GO card after my benefits were approved. Hang in there, it should come soon!

ā¢2 weeks? I got mine in like 5 days. Maybe it depends on where you live?

ā¢Could be! I'm upstate, so mail takes a bit longer to get here sometimes.

Hey guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at unemployment. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

ā¢It took about 45 mins for me, but beats spending all day trying to get through!

Ugh, the WAY2GO card is such a pain. I had issues with mine and couldn't access my money for weeks. Switching to direct deposit was the best decision I made.

Pro tip: call the WAY2GO customer service number on the back of ur temp paper card they mailed u. They can tell u exactly when ur card was mailed out and give u a tracking #

Here's what you need to know about the WAY2GO card and NY unemployment benefits: ⢠Typically, it takes 7-10 business days to receive the card after your claim is approved ⢠You can check the status of your card by calling 1-855-233-8124 ⢠Once you receive the card, you need to activate it before use ⢠You can still access your funds without the physical card by setting up direct deposit ⢠If you don't receive the card within 14 days, contact NYSDOL Remember, the system can be slow and frustrating. If you're having trouble reaching someone, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). It's a service that calls unemployment for you and connects you when an agent is available. It costs $20, but it's worth it if you're desperate to speak to someone. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Just wanted to update everyone - I finally got my WAY2GO card after 12 days! It came with a letter explaining how to activate it. For anyone still waiting, hang in there. Also, I called that number someone mentioned (1-855-233-8124) and they were actually pretty helpful in tracking where my card was in the process. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - this community is a lifesaver when dealing with NY unemployment! šŖ

Sofia, I'm in a similar situation - just got approved last week and still waiting for my WAY2GO card. From what I've read here, it seems like 7-14 days is pretty normal, so you're probably still within the typical timeframe. Smart move switching to direct deposit though! That should help for future payments. I'm planning to do the same once I get my card and can access the account. The waiting is definitely nerve-wracking when you need the money, but sounds like most people do eventually get their cards. Keep us posted on when yours arrives!

Hey Sofia! I went through the exact same thing last month. My benefits were approved and processed, but I was sweating bullets waiting for that WAY2GO card to show up. Mine took about 10 days total, which felt like forever when you're counting on that money. The good news is that since you already switched to direct deposit, you're set for all future payments - that was definitely the smart move! In the meantime, you can try calling that WAY2GO number (1-855-233-8124) that others mentioned to get an update on your card status. Also, double-check your mailing address in your NYSDOL account to make sure there wasn't any mix-up. Hang in there, it should arrive soon! š¤
