How long after NY Unemployment says 'payment released' until it hits my account?

Hey everyone, I just checked my ny unemployment account and it says my payment has been released. Does anyone know if this means the money will be in my account right away, or do I need to wait a few business days? I'm trying to figure out when I can actually use the funds. Thanks for any help!

I found a way to solve unemployment payment release delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC4ibdt1qQo

It usually takes a couple of business days for the money to show up in your account after it says 'released'. Don't panic if you don't see it right away!

Thanks for the info! I was hoping it would be instant, but I guess I'll have to be patient šŸ˜…

Yeah, the waiting game sucks. I'm always checking my account like a maniac when I know a payment is coming šŸ˜‚

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at ny unemployment. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure its legit?

I've heard of this. How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

It's totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. @profile6, I waited about 45 minutes, but I was able to do other stuff instead of being stuck on hold myself.

$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. Is it really worth it?

For me, it was worth every penny. I had been trying to get through for weeks. Time is money, and this saved me a ton of time and stress.

In my experience, it hits my account the next business day after it says 'released'. But I bank with Chase, might be different for other banks šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Ugh, the ny unemployment system is such a mess. Why can't they just make it instant? It's 2023 for crying out loud! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

It depends on your bank too. Some process ACH transfers faster than others. I've had it take anywhere from 1-3 business days.

Pro tip: Set up direct deposit if you haven't already. It's way faster than waiting for a check!

Here's a detailed breakdown of the ny unemployment payment process: ā€¢ Day 1: Payment is 'released' in the system ā€¢ Day 2-3: ACH transfer is initiated ā€¢ Day 3-5: Money appears in your account Factors that can affect timing: - Weekends and holidays - Your bank's processing speed - Any issues with your claim If you're really in a bind and need to speak to someone, I've had success using claimyr.com. It's a service that calls unemployment for you and connects you when an agent is available. Costs $20 but saved me hours of frustration. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Just a heads up, if it's your first payment, it might take a little longer. The system can be slow to process new claims.
