Anyone get their NY unemployment tax refund on H&R Block emerald card yet?

I got mine yesterday and I have Chase bank. The deposit date was supposed to be 9/25 so it came a bit early. My sister has the emerald card and she's still waiting even though we filed almost the same time. I think the emerald cards are just slower for some reason.

Got mine today! I have the emerald card and my deposit date was 9/22. So it's actually 2 days late but at least it came. The amount was pretty decent too - $1,220 back from taxes on unemployment. Hang in there!

My brother got his on emerald yesterday. His deposit date was 9/23 so it came right on time. Mine is supposed to be 9/29 and I'm with Bank of America, nothing yet.

Not about emerald card but I just got mine this morning (Wells Fargo). The IRS website said 9/25 for me but it came 2 days early. My roommate has the emerald card and is still waiting - his date is also 9/25. I think emerald is just slower with everything govt related.

This whole process is such a mess! Why does NY unemployment make everything so complicated?! I've been calling for days and can't get anyone on the phone to explain when these refunds are coming or how they calculate them 😡

I checked the IRS website and they have a tool called "Where's My Refund" that might help. For some reason emerald cards and some prepaid cards take longer for government deposits. Something about the processing system they use.

Emerald card holder here! Just got mine THIS MORNING! Deposit date was supposed to be 9/22, so it was 3 days late. Don't lose hope! They're definitely coming through.

My wife just got hers on emerald card yesterday - date was supposed to be 9/22 so it was a couple days late. She got $970 back. Hope that helps!

FYI for everyone - I called the IRS directly about this (took forever to get through) and they said emerald card and similar prepaid cards are in a different processing group and typically take 2-5 business days longer than traditional bank accounts. So if your deposit date was 9/24, might not hit until 9/28-10/1.

Haven't gotten mine yet (emerald card) but my coworker who has direct deposit with Bank of America got hers yesterday even though the date was supposed to be 9/29. Seems like emerald is always behind everyone else 🙄

Me and my wife both got refunds but on different days. I have Chase (got it 3 days early) and she has the emerald card (got it 2 days LATE). Same household, different timelines. The system makes no sense.

Another emerald card data point: deposit date 9/22, actually received 9/25 (so 3 days late). Got about $1,190 back. Hope that helps!

To everyone still waiting - I just checked the IRS2Go app and it now shows that emerald card deposits for this week's batch were delayed due to "processing issues" and should all be deposited by end of day Monday. Might save some of you from checking your accounts every 5 minutes like I was 😅
