If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Try the Bureau of Labor Statistics website - they have historical unemployment data going back decades. NYS Department of Labor probably references those federal statistics for historical comparisons. The 1933 rate was indeed around 24-25% which was the worst point of the Depression.

That's terrifying to think about. At least now when people file unemployment claims with NYS Department of Labor there are systems in place to help, even if they're frustrating to deal with sometimes.

If you're having trouble getting through to NYS Department of Labor for historical data requests, I recently discovered this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helps people reach NYS Department of Labor agents by phone. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. Might be worth trying if you need to speak with someone in their research department directly.

Interesting, I'll check that out if I can't find the info online first. Thanks for the suggestion!

same boat here, behind on rent and credit cards maxed out. unemployment definitely pushes you toward poverty fast

Just to add some concrete numbers - according to recent data, the federal poverty level for a single person in 2025 is about $15,060 annually. At $320 per week, you're looking at about $16,640 per year if you collected for the full year, which is technically above the poverty line but still extremely difficult to live on, especially in high-cost areas. The gap between unemployment benefits and actual living wages is a real policy issue that affects thousands of NYS workers.

Same boat here - filed 3 weeks ago and still waiting for that first week payment. The whole system is SO SLOW it's ridiculous. How are people supposed to pay bills when everything takes forever???

just keep filing weekly dont worry about it too much, mine came after like a month or something

The NYS Department of Labor payment schedule is such a mess. They say one thing and do another. I've had payments delayed for no reason multiple times and when you finally get someone on the phone they just give you generic answers about 'processing times' without actually looking at your specific case.

seriously the whole system is broken, they make it so hard to get basic info about your own payments

I get mine every Wednesday like clockwork but my friend gets hers on Thursdays even though we both certify on Sunday. I think it depends on your bank too.

The WHOLE SYSTEM is a mess right now! I've been waiting 8 days for a pending payment and when I finally got through to someone they said there's no issue with my claim but couldn't explain the delay. So frustrating when you're depending on these payments!

8 days is ridiculous! Did they at least give you a timeline for when it would be resolved?

mine usually takes 2-3 days max so 4 days does seem long. maybe try calling tomorrow morning right when they open?
