If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Don't forget you'll also need to register for work search activities once your claim is approved. The job search requirements are pretty strict now - you have to document your search activities and be ready to show proof if they ask. Start looking for jobs right away even while your claim is processing.

Just wanted to say good luck with everything! Being laid off is stressful enough without having to navigate the unemployment system. You've got this though - the folks here gave you solid advice.

The unemployment system is so confusing!! I filed 3 weeks ago and I still don't know if I'm getting the right amount. My claim says approved but the payment seems lower than what I calculated. Why can't they just make this stuff easier to understand???

Check your monetary determination letter in your online account. It breaks down exactly how they calculated your weekly benefit rate and shows your base period wages.

ugh the whole system is designed to make it hard to get benefits. they want you to give up and stop filing. i've been dealing with adjudication for 2 months over some stupid paperwork issue and still no payments

Adjudication can be frustrating but it's usually for a legitimate reason like verifying your separation reason or work availability. Have you checked what documents they're requesting?

ugh trying to call NYS Department of Labor to ask these questions is impossible!! I've been trying for days to get through and either get busy signals or get disconnected after waiting forever. Has anyone found a way to actually talk to someone there about which benefits to apply for?

I had the same problem until I found claimyr.com - they help you get through to NYS Department of Labor agents. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. I was able to talk to someone within a few hours instead of calling for weeks. Really helped me understand my options and get my claim started properly.

That actually sounds helpful, thanks for sharing that!

been on unemployment 3 times over the years and honestly they dont really care which 'type' it is - you just file a claim and they determine if you qualify based on your work history and why you lost the job. the whole process is pretty straightforward once you get started

Good to know it's not as complicated as I thought. I'll just start with the regular application then.

Actually had trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor to verify some details about my claim status, but found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helps you get through to actual agents by phone. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. Really helped me get clarity on my weekly claim questions without waiting on hold forever.

Interesting, I might need something like that if I run into issues. The phone lines are always so busy when I try to call.

Your friend probably confused unemployment with other government assistance programs or maybe heard some old myth. I've collected UI benefits three different times over the years and never had any credit issues. The benefits actually helped me avoid missing credit card and loan payments during tough times.

Wait I'm confused about this whole thing. I thought unemployment was run by the federal government? So NYS Department of Labor handles everything for New York residents? What if I worked in multiple states?

0 coins

Each state runs its own unemployment program following federal guidelines. If you worked in multiple states, you typically file in the state where you worked most recently or where you earned the most wages.

Just wanted to add that the $504 max is before taxes. NYS Department of Labor will withhold federal and state taxes if you choose that option when filing your weekly claims. Otherwise you'll owe at tax time.
