If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Don't romanticize it too much though. The 1950s had limited opportunities for women and minorities, and job security was tied to specific industries. When those industries declined in the 70s and 80s, NYS Department of Labor saw massive unemployment spikes. Today's diverse economy is actually more resilient, even if individual claims are more complicated.

Good point about the diversity aspect. I was just thinking how much easier it seemed to navigate work back then, but you're right that it wasn't accessible to everyone.

If you're having trouble with current NYS Department of Labor processes while researching this stuff, I found claimyr.com super helpful for actually getting through to agents when I needed claim status updates. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Way easier than trying to call during peak hours.

Thanks for the tip! I'm not filing claims right now but that could be useful for my research if I need to speak with someone at NYS Department of Labor about historical data access.

Ugh this whole system is such a mess. I've been dealing with NYS Department of Labor for months and it's always something - first it was adjudication delays, now it's processing delays. They really need to get their act together because people are depending on these benefits to survive.

thanks for posting this, I thought I was going crazy! mine have been slow too

THE SYSTEM IS RIGGED AGAINST YOUNG PEOPLE! They want us to have experience but won't give us a chance to GET experience. Meanwhile older workers are taking entry level jobs because they can't find anything in their field. It's a complete mess and NYS Department of Labor just treats everyone the same regardless of age or circumstances.

I hear your frustration but there are actually some age-specific programs available. The WIOA youth program goes up to age 24 and can provide job training and support services.

omg yes!! im 20 and have been on unemployment for 4 months. literally applied to like 200 jobs and maybe heard back from 10. the job search requirement is so stressful when you know most applications are just going into a black hole

If you're having trouble getting through to NYS Department of Labor to clarify this kind of thing, I used a service called Claimyr that helped me reach an actual agent when I had questions about my claim. You can check it out at claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Really saved me from spending hours on hold trying to get simple questions answered.

That sounds useful, I've been trying to call NYS Department of Labor for days about other issues with my claim and keep getting disconnected. I'll check that out.

FUTA = Federal Unemployment Tax Act. It's definitely an employer tax not employee. But honestly the whole unemployment system is such a mess, I wouldn't be surprised if they start trying to make us pay it too LOL

Just went through this same thing trying to reach someone at NYS Department of Labor to verify my calculation. Spent hours on hold getting nowhere. Finally used claimyr.com - they got me through to an actual agent in like 10 minutes. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. The agent confirmed my calculation was correct and explained the whole base period thing really clearly.

How much does that service cost? I've been trying to get through for weeks about my own calculation issues.

0 coins

It's way cheaper than the time I was wasting calling myself. Really worth it just to get actual answers instead of guessing whether the calculation is right.

The whole system is so confusing! Why can't they just show the calculation step by step when they approve your claim? I'm still not sure if mine is right either.

I agree it should be more transparent. The basic formula is: (Highest quarter wages ÷ 26) = weekly benefit rate, but there are caps and minimum thresholds that can affect the final amount.
