Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Make sure you have good phone reception wherever youll be taking the call. My friend lost his case cause he kept cutting out and missing important questions 🤦♂️

Here's what helped me win: - Organized all my pay stubs and w2s - Had my termination letter ready - Wrote down timeline of events - Practiced explaining my side to family member - Called NY unemployment (used claimyr.com to get through) to verify my hearing time - Stayed professional even when frustrated Unless its a complicated case or huge amount of money, lawyer probably not needed. Here's the detailed breakdown of what you need to do: First, calculate your base period earnings - NY looks at the first 4 of last 5 completed quarters You need: - At least $2,900 in one quarter - Total earnings must be 1.5x your highest quarter - 10x your previous weekly benefit rate from work since your last claim If you meet these, file new claim immediately.
