The Career Centers are open in most regions for job search assistance, but they have limited ability to help with unemployment claim issues. They can help with identity verification if that's what's holding up your claim, but they can't resolve most technical claim problems. The full unemployment service centers are scheduled to reopen in July.
Update: I actually got through yesterday!! I tried that Claimyr thing someone mentioned above and it actually worked - got me to a real person in about 25 minutes. The agent said my claim had been flagged for "wage verification" because my last employer reported different quarterly wages than what I put on my application. Had to send in my last 3 pay stubs but she expedited it once she had them. Should be fixed within 5 business days! Still ridiculous it took this long but at least there's progress.
That's great news! Glad you were able to get through and find out what was actually happening with your claim. The wage verification flags are pretty common, especially if you had any overtime or bonuses in your last quarter. Keep us posted on whether the payment comes through as promised!
Just wanted to update - I called the (518) 485-7071 number using Claimyr this morning and got through in about 25 minutes. The agent confirmed they're sending out my 1099G today. Said it should arrive within 7-10 business days. So much easier than the hours of hold time I was facing!
This happened to me last yeAr too and when i finally got my 1099G in the mail they had sent it to my OLD address even tho I updated everything online!! Make sure you verify your address is current when you do get thru
glad u got it fixed! next time this happens (and with NY unemployment, there's always a next time lol) u know what to do
OF COURSE it was a "security hold" they "forgot" to tell you about!!! They do this ALL THE TIME. At least you got your money. I'm still fighting with them over back payments from December!!!
If you're still having issues with back payments from December, you should request a callback from a supervisor specifically. Regular agents often don't have the authority to release payments that far back. Make sure to mention you need to speak with someone about "retroactive payment authorization.
make sure u follow up every week after u send the letter. call them and ask for status update. if u dont bug them they will just ignore it trust me
Thank you everyone for all the helpful advice! I'm going to write the letter today and include all the documentation I have about the technical issues I experienced. Will definitely send it certified mail and follow up regularly. Will update when I hear back from them!

SO glad you got it fixed! The exact same thing happened to me. The system is completely broken when it comes to BYE dates.
