Awesome! I'll try again now too!
For anyone still having issues, I spoke with someone at NYSDOL this morning. They confirmed they're having intermittent problems with their secure certificate provider and the login system today. They expect it to be fully resolved by 4pm Eastern. If you absolutely need to upload your resume today and can't wait, call the tech support line at 888-209-8124, press 1 for English, then press 6 for technical assistance with your online account. Be prepared for a wait though - when I called the wait was about 40 minutes.
Thank you for the detailed info! I actually managed to get in using the incognito browser suggestion and got my resume uploaded successfully. Such a relief!
Quick update: NYSDOL just announced they're extending their phone hours starting next Monday. They'll be operating from 7:30am to 6:00pm instead of 8:00am to 5:00pm. That might help more people get through. Also, definitely consider contacting your local Assembly member's office as suggested above - they have direct channels to unemployment staff.
Just wanted to follow up - were you able to get through? I know how stressful this can be when you're waiting on benefits or need to make an important update.
Yes! I ended up using that Claimyr service yesterday and got connected to an agent in about 45 minutes. They were able to update my payment info and fix another issue with my claim I didn't even know about. Wish I'd done it sooner instead of wasting days hitting redial. Thanks everyone for your help!
Just wanted to follow up - did you ever get this resolved? I'm curious if calling early in the morning worked for you or if you ended up trying another approach.
UPDATE: Finally got through to someone using that Claimyr service after failing to get through on my own for three days straight. Turns out there was a 'system flag' on my account because I had previously worked for a school district (even though that was over a year ago). The agent removed the flag and released all my payments! Money was on my card within 2 days. Such a stupid reason to hold up someone's benefits without any notification.
Glad you got it fixed! The school district thing is actually common - the system automatically flags education workers for additional review because of different eligibility rules during school breaks. The problem is they never TELL people about these holds. At least you got your backpay!
Thanks! Yes, got all my backpay from November through now. Such a relief. I just wish they had some kind of notification system when these holds happen instead of making people chase them down.
One thing that helped me was filling out the callback request form on their website. They actually called me back within 2 days. This was back in February though, so not sure if they're still processing those requests efficiently now.
Update: Just got an email notification that my payment is being processed! Should hit my account by Monday. So relieved this nightmare is finally over. Thanks again everyone for the support and suggestions!
nice! let us know when it actually hits ur account. mine said processing for like 2 weeks before anything happened

Update on my situation - I went back to work yesterday and it was honestly a nightmare. No masks, people coughing, windows closed. I documented everything and took pictures. Going to my doctor tomorrow to see if I can get a note saying this environment is unsafe with my asthma. Will update on whether it works for unemployment purposes.

After reading through this thread, I want to clarify a few important points about NY unemployment and work refusal in 2025: 1. General COVID concerns are not considered good cause to refuse work under current regulations 2. However, specific, documented health conditions that make a particular workplace unsafe for YOU may qualify for accommodation 3. The process is: - Get medical documentation of your specific health concerns - Request formal accommodation from employer through ADA process - If accommodation is unreasonably denied, THEN you may have grounds to refuse while preserving benefits - Document all communications in writing 4. If you refuse work without following this process, benefits will likely be cut off immediately 5. Appeals are possible but can take 8-12 weeks during which you'll receive no benefits Don't make decisions based on what worked in 2020-2022 - the rules have changed significantly.

β’Thank you for this detailed explanation. I've made an appointment with my doctor for tomorrow and requested the ADA paperwork from HR. Hopefully I can get this resolved before Monday.
