just wondering... if you've been certifying for 17 weeks with no money why did u wait so long to say something?
I've been calling regularly but never get through. I posted on here before about the delays but didn't get many responses. The 1099-G is what finally pushed me over the edge because now it's a tax issue too.
Just wanted to follow up - were you able to get through to anyone at NYSDOL? If you're still having trouble, remember that you can also try contacting your state assembly person's office. They often have dedicated staff for helping constituents with unemployment issues and can sometimes get faster responses than calling directly.
UPDATE: I finally got through today using the Claimyr service someone mentioned! It actually worked. Turns out there was a routing number error in my direct deposit info. One digit was wrong! The agent corrected it and said I should receive all back payments within 3-5 business days. They're also sending a corrected 1099-G. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for your help!
If you do manage to speak with a representative, make sure you have these things ready: 1. Your NY.gov username and password 2. Social Security Number 3. The exact dates of all claims you filed 4. Any documentation of part-time work during your claim period 5. The claim ID numbers if you have them 6. A copy of the letter saying you're eligible for $6,100 This will save time and make sure they can actually help you in one call. Based on what you've described, it sounds like you may have had a break in claim that's now been resolved, but the payment mechanism is still on hold.
This is really helpful, thank you! I'll gather all of this info before I start calling on Tuesday. The letter has a claim ID that starts with T-25 which is different from my usual claim number, if that means anything to anyone?
A T-25 prefix typically indicates a determination for a specific issue rather than your regular claim. This actually confirms my suspicion that there was a hold on your account that has now been resolved. The $6,100 letter is likely a formal determination that you're eligible for those back weeks. Once you speak with an agent, they should be able to release those funds.
Update us if you get through! I'm having similar issues right now and could use the tips. The whole system is such a mess this year.
Will do! Going to try all these suggestions next week. Fingers crossed I can get this resolved and actually receive my benefits!
just wanted to say ur not alone. same exact thing happening to me and my roommate. this system is trash!!
UPDATE: I finally got through to someone! I tried the TTY line like someone suggested here and was able to speak with an agent. They confirmed my backpay was approved but sitting in a "pending release" status that required supervisor override. The agent submitted the request and said I should see the payment within 5-7 business days. They also gave me a direct reference number to use if I need to follow up. Thank you all for the helpful suggestions!
Great news! Make sure to write down that reference number and the name of the agent if they provided it. If you don't see the payment in 7 business days (which sometimes happens), call the TTY line again and provide the reference number immediately. This will get you to the same department instead of starting over.
Excellent update! This is exactly how the process should work. The supervisor override is common for backpay claims over a certain dollar amount or that cross fiscal quarters. The reference number is the key - that means they've properly logged the action in the system.
check ur mail too. sometimes they send letters asking for more info but dont update the online stuff
Has anyone tried going to their local IRS office in person? I'm wondering if that would be faster than calling? This is so stressful!
In-person visits require appointments, and they're typically booked weeks in advance. Also, the representatives at local offices often don't have any more access to accelerate processing than phone representatives do. They're most helpful for complex issues or when you need to submit documents in person. For a return that's simply still processing, an in-person visit likely won't speed things up.

Just wondering - did you check all your email folders? My DocuSigns went straight to spam and I almost missed them! Nearly lost my mind when I found them sitting there for a week!

•I've been checking spam obsessively! Nothing there unfortunately. I'm signed up for the text alerts too so hopefully I won't miss it when it finally comes through.

Have you tried the online message center in your NY.gov account? Sometimes sending a direct message through there about your hardship situation can trigger someone to look at your case. That's another thing that worked for me besides calling - I sent a message explaining my financial situation and mentioned I had been waiting X weeks already. Worth a shot while you're trying other methods too.

•This is good advice. When sending a message through the portal, use specific subject lines like "Urgent: Back Pay DocuSign Delay - Hardship Situation" and include your claim ID in the very first line of the message. This helps it get routed to the correct department faster.
