If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just to add - when you file for unemployment make sure you have all your employer information ready including exact dates and addresses. NYS Department of Labor will contact your previous employer to verify everything so accuracy is important. Any mistakes can delay your claim approval.

The whole system is designed to make you give up honestly. They ask for so much documentation and then take forever to process anything. But stick with it because the benefits do help while you're looking for work.

This is so true! Took them 3 weeks just to process my initial claim and I was stressing the whole time.

If you're having trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor to verify any information or if your claim gets stuck, I used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me get through to an actual agent. They have this video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Was really helpful when I couldn't get through the regular phone lines and needed to check on my claim status.

is that like a paid service? i'm already broke from losing my job

It's worth checking out their site for the details. For me it was better than spending hours on hold or getting disconnected constantly.

OMG the NYS Department of Labor website is THE WORST. I spent like 3 hours trying to figure out the same thing when I got fired. You basically need everything - social security, ID, work history, bank info if you want direct deposit. But honestly the hardest part is just navigating their terrible online system. Make sure you write down all your passwords and stuff because you'll need to log back in every week to certify.

totally agree about the website being awful! took me forever to find where to actually start the application

Wait I'm confused - I thought if you quit you automatically can't get unemployment no matter what? My friend quit her job because her boss was harassing her and she said she couldn't get benefits. Maybe the rules changed?

0 coins

The rules haven't changed but a lot of people don't know about the good cause exception. Your friend might have qualified but didn't present her case properly to NYS Department of Labor. The burden of proof is on the claimant to show they had good cause for quitting.

Document EVERYTHING before you make any moves. Dates, times, what was said, who was there. Take photos if there are safety issues. NYS Department of Labor will want concrete evidence, not just your word against theirs. And honestly, start job hunting now while you're still employed - it's always easier to find work when you already have work.

THE SYSTEM IS SO CONFUSING THO! Like why don't they explain this stuff better?? I spent weeks thinking I was gonna get arrested or something for filing while working. NYS Department of Labor website makes it sound like you can ONLY file if you're completely unemployed but that's not true at all!

I totally agree the messaging could be clearer. The partial unemployment program isn't well publicized even though it helps so many people who have reduced hours.

Just make sure you understand the job search requirements too. Even on partial unemployment you usually still need to do work search activities, though they might be reduced since you're already working.

If you're having trouble reaching someone at NYS Department of Labor about your adjudication, I used a service called Claimyr that helped me get through to an actual agent. You can check it out at claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that explains how it works. I was able to get my claim status sorted out in like 20 minutes after weeks of trying to call myself.

0 coins

Really? That actually worked for you? I've been calling the NYS Department of Labor number every morning and either get busy signals or get disconnected after waiting forever.

0 coins

Yeah it was a lifesaver honestly. Way better than sitting on hold for hours just to get hung up on.

The whole system is rigged against workers. Companies will lie, cheat, and steal to avoid paying what they owe. I've seen employers claim people were fired for cause when they know damn well it was just downsizing. NYS Department of Labor needs to start penalizing companies that file false disputes.

totally agree with this! happened to my brother too and it took months to get resolved
