DETR rep extended my payment waiting time - need advice

Has anyone else had issues with DETR extending waiting times for payments? I just dealt with a rep who didn't seem to know what they were doing and pushed my payment date out further than it should've been. It's frustrating when you're counting on that money and then suddenly it's delayed even more. Anyone have tips for dealing with this or similar experiences?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I had something similar happen to me last month. The rep I talked to seemed totally clueless and ended up messing up my claim even more. It's like they don't even train these people properly 🤦‍♂️

Same here! Its like they just hire anyone off the street. No offense to the workers, but come on DETR, train your staff!

@profile 3 I get it, but when it's MY money on the line, I expect better. We're all struggling here.

I've been dealing with DETR for months now, and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what I suggest: 1. Always get the name and ID of the rep you're talking to. 2. Ask them to notate your account with any changes or promises made. 3. If possible, request a supervisor if you feel the rep is unsure. 4. Follow up with an email summarizing your call (use the contact form on their website). 5. Keep detailed records of all your interactions. It's a pain, but it helps prevent these kinds of mix-ups. Hope this helps!

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try these next time. Do you know if there's a way to escalate issues beyond just asking for a supervisor?

Glad to help! As for escalation, you can try contacting your local state representative. They sometimes have channels to expedite DETR issues. It's worked for some people I know.

This is gold 💯 Saving this for future reference!

lol welcome to the wonderful world of DETR where the rules are made up and your needs don't matter 🤡

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/joPqgg0bRFw

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

I know it sounds weird, but I swear it's legit. I was desperate and tried it. Saved me hours of frustration. But yeah, it sucks we have to pay extra just to get basic service.

Have you tried reaching out to them on social media? Sometimes they respond faster there. Worth a shot!

I tried that once. They just told me to call the regular number 🙄 Total waste of time.

guys i'm in the same boat. been waiting 12 weeks for my claim to be processed. this is getting ridiculous. how are we supposed to survive??

0 coins

12 weeks?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local rep? They might be able to help speed things up.

no i havent. didn't even know that was an option. ill give it a try, thanks!

Pro tip: If you call right when they open, you have a better chance of getting someone who's not burnt out yet. Mondays are usually the worst, try midweek if you can.

I'm convinced DETR is run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels. How hard is it to get simple things right? 🐹🎡

Hey now, don't insult hamsters like that. They're way more efficient! 😂

Has anyone else noticed that the info on the DETR website is often outdated? I swear I've seen pages that haven't been updated since like 2019.

Omg yes! I thought I was going crazy. It's like they forgot the internet exists.
