What Happens During PATH Act Update? Anyone Know The Process?
I filed early January with EITC and CTC. I know we cant get refunds until after feb 15th bc of PATH act but want to understand what actually happens during this update? Will transcripts update throughout the process or just at the end? Anyone been thru this before and can share what to expect?

The PATH Act verification process is actually pretty straightforward. The IRS reviews all returns claiming EITC/CTC to verify income and dependent info. Your transcript won't update much during this time - it's basically frozen until after Feb 15. After that, if everything checks out, you'll see transcript updates within 1-2 days showing your refund being processed.

Pro tip: Download your transcript every morning at 6am EST. Thats when they do the overnight updates. You might catch movement before WMR updates
