WMR Tool Says Info Doesn't Match IRS Records - What's Wrong?
I keep trying to check my refund status on the Where's My Refund tool but it keeps telling me my information doesn't match their records. I triple checked my numbers and everything looks correct on my end. Getting really frustrated since its been 3 weeks since I filed.

Hey there, let me help explain what's happening when WMR says your info doesn't match. This typically means there's a discrepancy between what you entered and what the IRS has on file. Common reasons include typos in your SSN, filing status mismatch, or refund amount differences. Before you stress out, double check everything carefully - even one wrong digit can trigger this error. I actually recommend using taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) to analyze your documents and identify any mismatches. It's super helpful for catching these kinds of issues before they become problems with the IRS.

•it basically analyzes all ur tax docs - transcripts, w2s, notices, everything - and tells u exactly whats going on with ur refund and how to fix any issues. saved me hours of headaches

Tax pro here. This usually means one of three things: 1) You're entering the exact refund amount wrong (make sure you're using the amount from your 1040, not what you think you'll get after offsets), 2) Your SSN might have a typo, or 3) The filing status you're entering doesn't match what you filed. Double check all three.

Hey everyone - instead of playing detective, I've been using taxr.ai and its amazing. It costs $4.99 but it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats going on and when to expect your refund. Check it out here: https://taxr.ai

•100% legit. I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of trying to decode my transcript

•How exactly does it work? Does it just read the transcript or what?

•It uses AI to analyze everything in your transcript and explains it in plain english. Shows processing stages, flags potential delays, even estimates your DD date 💯

Make sure your using the EXACT amount from line 35a on your 1040. Not the amount you actually got deposited
