Still no IRS notice after 8 months - shouldn't I know if something's wrong by now?
Filed my taxes back in April and haven't heard anything from the IRS. The WMR tool just shows its still processing. No letters, no updates, nothing. Everyone keeps saying there must be something wrong with my return but wouldn't they have told me by now if there was an issue? Starting to get really worried about this. The tax advocate number just gives me a busy signal everytime I call.

Not necessarily. The IRS is still catching up on their backlog from the pandemic. They could take up to 16 weeks to review returns with certain credits or forms. Even simple issues can take months to process. Keep checking your transcript weekly for any updates or codes that might indicate what's happening.

Check your mail carefully - sometimes they send letters that look like junk mail. I almost threw mine away!
