State refund accepted but federal return still processing - no movement for weeks
My state return got accepted within a week and is being processed but the federal return is just sitting there not even trying to move forward. Been checking WMR and transcripts daily but nothing is changing. Anyone else dealing with this or know why federal is taking forever while state moves along fine?

This is actually pretty common. State and federal systems are completely separate, and states typically process returns much faster. Federal returns go through more rigorous verification processes, especially if you claimed certain credits. Have you checked your transcripts for any codes? That would tell us more about what's happening with your federal return.

Took me 3 months to get my federal last year but state came in 2 weeks. The IRS is just backed up like crazy tbh
