Filed 2021 Return in March - WMR Says Processing but Transcript Shows No Record - Help!
Filed my 2021 taxes on March 6th and still waiting on federal (got state already). WMR shows received and processing but transcript says no record of return. Getting different messages between systems and no updates happening. How do I even know if im a daily or weekly updater when theres no info showing up?

This is actually pretty common with prior year returns. When you paper file a past year return, it can take 6-8 months minimum for processing. The different messages between WMR and transcripts usually means its sitting in the processing queue. You won't know if youre daily/weekly until it actually starts processing and shows up on transcripts.

Unfortunately with prior year returns your basically gonna have to wait it out. The IRS is so backed up its not even funny. My 2020 return took 14 months to process no joke

Check your mail carefully! Sometimes they send letters requesting more info but the WMR/transcript won't show it. Had this happen to me and almost missed it bc it looked like junk mail ngl
