Rhode Island State Tax Return 2025 - Anyone Received Theirs Yet?
Getting anxious about my Rhode Island state refund. Filed early february and still nothing. Starting to worry since I usually get it pretty quick. Anyone else from RI get theirs yet? What's the timeline looking like for everyone?

RI tax specialist here - current processing time is about 4-6 weeks for electronic returns, 8-10 weeks for paper. The state is actually moving faster this year compared to last year. You can check your refund status at tax.ri.gov/refund

•Yeah, RI typically takes longer than MA. Different processing systems and smaller staff.

Filed mine on 2/3 and still waiting too! Called the RI tax department yesterday and they said they're processing returns from late January right now. So if you filed early February, you're probably looking at another 2-3 weeks. The good news is they haven't had any major delays this year like they did in 2024. Just gotta be patient I guess 🤷♀️

Filed mine 2/8 and checked the RI website this morning - still shows "processing" but based on what everyone's saying here it sounds like I'm probably looking at mid-March. At least it's good to know they're not behind like last year! Has anyone had luck calling them or is it just the standard "wait and see" response?

•I called them last week and honestly it was pretty much the standard "we're processing in order received" response. The rep was nice but couldn't give me any specific timeline beyond what's already posted online. Sounds like you're in the same batch as me though - filed 2/6 myself. At least we know they're moving through late January returns now!

Filed my RI return on 2/4 and still waiting too! Really appreciate everyone sharing their timelines here - it's way more helpful than the vague info on the state website. Sounds like we're all in the same boat with early February filers. At least knowing they're working through late January gives me some hope I'll see mine in the next few weeks. The waiting game is brutal when you're counting on that refund! 😅

•Totally agree! This thread has been way more informative than anything I've found on the official RI site. Filed mine 2/7 so sounds like we're all in that same early February batch. The waiting really is brutal, especially when you have bills to pay! At least it sounds like they're staying on track this year unlike the disaster that was 2024. Fingers crossed we all see movement in the next couple weeks! 🤞
