Return Transcript shows 'Verification of Non-Filing' after accepted taxes - normal or problem?
Filed taxes recently and got accepted with the 'being processed' message on WMR but when checking return transcripts it shows 'verification of non-filing'. Is this normal during processing or should I be worried? First time filing.

Hey fam, I totally get your concern about seeing 'Verification of Non-filing' on your transcript. This actually happens quite often when returns are still being processed. When the IRS accepts your return electronically, it doesn't immediately show up on your transcript - there's usually a delay while it moves through their system. I'd recommend checking out taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it's this new AI tool that analyzes your transcripts and can tell you exactly where your return is in the process and when to expect movement. I've seen it help a ton of people in similar situations understand their transcript codes and get clarity on their refund timeline.

Tax professional here - This is totally normal during initial processing. The 'verification of non-filing' status appears until the return is fully processed in the system. Usually takes 2-3 weeks to update to show the actual transcript.

•This year we're seeing longer processing times, anywhere from 3-8 weeks. If it goes beyond that, might want to call IRS.
