PATH Act confusion: Will 05 cycle get DDD this Friday? Is lifting on 14th or 17th?
Getting mixed info about PATH Act lifting dates. Some say 14th others say 17th since its Presidents Day. I'm cycle 05 and wondering if we'll get a deposit date this Friday or do we have to wait till after PATH lifts to get our DDD?

The PATH Act lifts on February 15th, 2025. Since that falls on a Saturday this year, and Monday is Presidents Day, the effective lifting date will be February 18th. Cycle 05 filers typically won't receive their DDD until after PATH lifts, even if they've been processed. The IRS holds these refunds specifically to comply with the law.

The PATH Act officially lifts on February 15th. Since that falls on a Thursday this year, the IRS will start processing EITC/ACTC returns that day. However cycle 05 updates happen on Fridays, so you'll likely see movement on February 16th. The holiday doesn't affect the PATH date itself, just some processing times.

•Yes, there's a good chance! Keep an eye on your transcripts

Instead of trying to decode all this PATH stuff yourself, just use taxr.ai - its literally a dollar and tells you exactly when youll get paid based on your transcript. saves so much headache tbh https://taxr.ai

Hey y'all! I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund and it's been a game changer. For $1 it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Way better than playing detective with these confusing transcripts https://taxr.ai

These PATH delays are straight 🤡 behavior from the IRS. Like why make us wait when they already processed everything??

Been doing taxes for 15 years, heres the real deal: PATH Act is a fraud prevention measure. Yes, it's frustrating but it helps prevent billions in fraudulent claims. The lifting date is technically the 15th, but due to the weekend and holiday, processing won't start until the 18th. For cycle 05, expect updates the following Friday. Pro tip: use taxr.ai to get a clear picture of your specific situation - it's helped many of my clients understand their timeline better.
