PATH Act 2025: Weekend Feb 15th impact on refund release dates + Presidents Day delay?

Getting anxious about PATH act lifting this year since February 15th falls on a weekend. Anyone know if this means we'll have to wait until Tuesday after Presidents Day to see our refunds? Filed early and claimed EITC so I know I'm affected by PATH.

The PATH Act limitation will still lift on February 15th, even though it's a weekend. However, due to Presidents' Day on Monday, most refunds affected by PATH won't hit bank accounts until February 19th-21st. The IRS processes will still run on the 15th, but the federal holiday does impact the banking system's ability to complete the deposits.

Unfortunately yes, but it's only a few extra days due to the holiday weekend.

Hey guys, instead of playing the guessing game, I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund. It's only $1 and the AI reads your transcript and tells you exactly when to expect your refund. Way better than trying to piece together random info from posts. https://taxr.ai

Is this legit? Seems too good to be true

100% legit! Used it last year and it predicted my deposit date perfectly. You just upload your transcript and it explains everything

Just tried it and OMG where has this been all my life?? The AI explained everything about my delay that I've been trying to figure out for weeks! 💯

Called IRS today and they said PATH lift timing won't change, but bank processing might take longer bc of holiday weekend 🙄

My tax lady said direct deposits usually hit Wednesday or Thursday after presidents day. Been filing with her for 5 years and shes always right

Same situation here! Filed Jan 27th with EITC and CTC. From what I've read, the IRS systems will still process on Feb 15th even though it's Saturday, but yeah the banking delays from Presidents Day weekend mean we're probably looking at Feb 19th-21st for actual deposits. It's frustrating but at least we know the PATH hold will officially lift on time.

Thanks for breaking that down! Filed around the same time with EITC too. So basically the PATH Act lifts on schedule but we're stuck waiting for the banks to catch up after the long weekend. At least it's only a few extra days... though every day feels like forever when you're waiting on your refund 😅
