PATH Act Update Timeline: When Will Returns with EITC and ACTC Actually Get Released?
Can anyone tell me what happens after Path lifts? Is it instant or do we have to wait longer? My transcript shows 971 but no DDD yet. Getting nervous since I have bills to pay and my kids need new clothes.

The PATH Act hold is just the first step. Once it lifts, the IRS still needs to process your return which typically takes 1-3 weeks. The 971 code means they sent you a notice, but without seeing your full transcript its hard to tell whats going on. Watch for an 846 code - thats your direct deposit date.

Instead of playing the guessing game, I've been using taxr.ai to analyze my transcript. For $1 it tells you exactly whats happening and when to expect your refund. Way better than trying to decode everything yourself. https://taxr.ai
