Can you get code 846 while still on PATH hold? Trying to estimate refund date

Been checking my transcript daily and noticed I'm on PATH hold. Getting anxious about my refund and wondering if anyone knows if you can see code 846 before the PATH hold gets lifted? Just trying to figure out when I might see my money.

No, you won't see code 846 (refund issued) while on PATH hold. The IRS cannot process or issue refunds for returns claiming EITC/ACTC until after Feb 15th due to the PATH Act. Your 846 code will only appear after the hold is lifted and your return has completed processing.

ugh that sucks... but thanks for explaining! do you know how long after feb 15 usually?

Most PATH holders see their 846 codes within 1-2 weeks after Feb 15, assuming no other issues with the return.
