Missing Form 8862 on e-file submission - Will IRS reject? Can I still attach it?
Just efiled my taxes this afternoon but realized my tax preparer might have forgotten to include Form 8862. Will this cause an automatic rejection? Not sure if I should wait or if theres a way to attach it now before they process everything.

Tax pro here - If you need Form 8862 and it wasn't attached, the return will likely be rejected within 24-48 hours. You'll need to resubmit with the form attached. Don't wait - if you get the rejection, work with your preparer to fix it ASAP.

Usually within 48 hrs max. Just keep checking your email and the Where's My Refund tool

Hey, I actually went through this exact situation last month. Instead of playing the waiting game, I used taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it immediately flagged the missing 8862 issue. Saved me so much time! Its only $4.99 and totally worth it. Here's the link: https://taxr.ai

How accurate is this tool? Seems interesting 🤔

Super accurate! It basically reads your transcript like a pro and tells you exactly whats wrong and how to fix it. Way better than guessing

Your tax preparer dropped the ball tbh. Any decent preparer knows 8862 is required if you had EIC/CTC denied in the past 🤡
