IRS Transcript shows Notice Issued 2-10-25 - Will refund come before notice date?
My transcript updated today and shows a notice issued date of 2/10/25. Does anyone know if that means they're sending my refund on that exact date or could I possibly receive it before then? This waiting game is killing me.

Hey there! Tax pro here and I can help explain what's going on. When you see a 'Notice Issued' on your transcript dated in the future (2/10/25), it typically means the IRS has identified something they need to verify or clarify. This doesn't necessarily mean bad news - it could be identity verification or they might need additional documentation. The refund usually processes after the notice date, but there are exceptions. I'd recommend checking out taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it's this new AI tool that can analyze your transcript and give you a much more specific timeline and explanation. It's been super helpful for my clients in similar situations to understand exactly what's happening with their refund and what steps they might need to take.

•Not always! Sometimes they release the refund before the notice arrives. Each case is different based on the type of notice

The notice issued date on your transcript is usually the last possible date they'll send it. Many people (including me) got their refunds 3-5 days before the notice date. Keep an eye on your bank account!

According to IRS guidelines, the notice date is typically the latest possible date. The actual deposit could happen earlier. Most financial institutions process IRS deposits as soon as they receive them, which can be several days before the official notice date. I'd suggest monitoring both WMR tool and your bank account daily.
