IRS Transcript Site Shows About:Blank Screen For Multiple Days - Can't Check $3,789 Refund Status After 3 Weeks

Trying to check my transcripts but keep getting an "about:blank" white screen at 10:55 when I try to access them. This has been happening for the past couple days. I have full LTE signal (5 bars) but still can't get through. I've attached a screenshot of exactly what I'm seeing - it just shows "about:blank" at the top of my browser with nothing else loading. The time shows 10:55 and I have full LTE service with 5 bars of signal strength. I've tried clicking the + button to open a new tab and even tried refreshing multiple times, but it keeps going back to this blank page. Anyone else experiencing this? Starting to get worried about checking my refund status since I filed nearly 3 weeks ago and was expecting around $3,789 back. I really need to see if there's any updates or if there's an issue with my return.

The screenshot confirms your connection details - full LTE signal (5 bars) at 10:55, yet you're encountering the "about:blank" error when trying to access your transcripts. This error page is a common issue with the IRS website and doesn't reflect a problem with your internet connection, since you have strong LTE service. The "about:blank" message is a generic browser error that occurs when a webpage fails to load properly. In the context of IRS transcript access, this typically happens due to: - Heavy server traffic during peak tax season hours (10:55 is during high-volume time) - IRS system maintenance - Browser security settings blocking the connection To resolve this, try: 1. Accessing during off-peak hours (before 8 AM or after 8 PM) 2. Using a desktop computer with a wired connection 3. Clearing your browser cache and cookies 4. Using the IRS2Go mobile app as an alternative The timing of your attempt (10:55) suggests you may have better luck trying during early morning or late evening hours when server load is typically lighter.

Hey instead of playing detective with the transcripts, I've been using taxr.ai - its only $1 and it actually tells you exactly whats going on and when you'll get paid. Way better than trying to guess what all those codes mean https://taxr.ai

Had the same issue last week! The about:blank screen is super annoying but it's definitely on their end, not your connection. Since you already got it working with incognito mode, that's actually a pretty common fix - it bypasses cached data that might be causing conflicts. For future reference, you can also try clearing your browser data (cookies/cache) or using a different device entirely. The IRS website is notoriously glitchy during peak hours and tax season makes it even worse. At least you can check your refund status now! $3,789 is definitely worth the hassle of troubleshooting 💪

Totally agree! The IRS website struggles so much during tax season. I had similar issues last month and incognito mode was a lifesaver. It's crazy how something so simple can fix what seems like a major technical issue. Glad @4c06638e3300 got it sorted out - that $3,789 refund is definitely worth the troubleshooting effort! 💰

Been dealing with this exact same issue! The about:blank screen has been plaguing the IRS website for weeks now. What's really frustrating is that it happens randomly - sometimes the site works fine, other times you get that blank white screen no matter what you do. Since incognito mode worked for you, it's definitely a browser cache/cookie issue rather than server problems. Pro tip: bookmark the direct transcript URL and try accessing it during off-peak hours (like early morning 6-7 AM) when the servers aren't as hammered. Also, if you're on mobile, the desktop version tends to be more stable. Hope you get good news about that $3,789 refund! 🤞

Great advice about the off-peak hours! I've noticed the same pattern - early morning around 6 AM is definitely the sweet spot for accessing IRS systems without all the traffic. The direct transcript URL bookmark tip is genius too, saves you from navigating through all those menu pages that sometimes glitch out. It's wild how inconsistent their site can be - works perfectly one minute, then completely breaks the next. At least we've got some solid workarounds now between incognito mode and timing our visits better. Fingers crossed your refund comes through soon @4c06638e3300! 🤞

Same thing happened to me yesterday! The about:blank screen is so frustrating when you're trying to check on a big refund like that. Since incognito mode worked for you, definitely keep that in your back pocket for future logins. Another trick that's helped me is switching from wifi to mobile data (or vice versa) - sometimes it's just weird network routing issues with the IRS servers. Also try the "Where's My Refund" tool on irs.gov as a backup - it doesn't give you the detailed transcript info but at least shows basic status updates. 3 weeks is still pretty normal timing wise, but I totally get the anxiety when it's almost $4K! Keep us posted on what your transcript shows 👍

The network switching tip is really smart! I hadn't thought of that but it makes sense - sometimes the routing between different ISPs and IRS servers can be wonky. The "Where's My Refund" tool is definitely a good backup option when the transcript site is acting up. I've been in the same boat waiting on a refund and the anxiety is real when you can't get status updates! At least with incognito mode working, @4c06638e3300 should be able to stay on top of things now. Really hoping that $3,789 shows up soon! 🙏

This blank screen issue has been driving everyone crazy lately! I've been having the same problem on and off for about a week now. What worked for me (besides incognito mode) was actually disabling my ad blocker temporarily - apparently some ad blockers interfere with the IRS site's security scripts. Also, if you're using any VPN, try turning it off since the IRS blocks some VPN IP ranges. The fact that you got it working with incognito is a good sign though - means your return is probably processing normally and it's just their website being glitchy as usual. With a $3,789 refund pending, definitely worth checking every few days to catch any updates early. Their system should show movement soon since you're at the 3-week mark! 🤞

The ad blocker tip is spot on! I never would have thought of that but it makes total sense that security scripts could get blocked. I've been using uBlock Origin and had similar issues with other government sites. The VPN point is huge too - I learned that the hard way when trying to access my state tax portal. It's crazy how many little technical things can interfere with what should be a simple login process. At least @4c06638e3300 found a solution that works! Three weeks is right in that sweet spot where refunds usually start processing, so hopefully you'll see some good updates soon. Thanks for sharing these troubleshooting tips - definitely saving this thread for future reference! 💯
