IRS Tax Examiner Phone Request - No Transcript Updates or Codes
My mom got a letter requesting her to call a tax examiner but her transcript still shows no updates or codes. Anyone dealt with this before? What should she expect?

Tax examiner letters usually mean they need additional information or verification. She should definitely call the number on the letter ASAP. Make sure she has all her tax documents ready when she calls. These requests are time-sensitive and ignoring them could delay her refund further.

•Call early morning (right when they open) or right before lunch. Wait times can be 30+ mins but better than playing phone tag for weeks 📞

When she calls have her write down the badge number of who she talks to and get a reference number for the call. Trust me on this one!
