IRS Transcript Code 04 Processing Time - When will it update?
Filed my taxes and got Code 04 on my transcript. Been checking every day but nothing changes. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for this to update? Starting to get worried since its been 3 weeks already.

The code 04 means that your return has not yet been processed. It's super frustrating but with the current IRS backlog weve been seeing processing times anywhere from 4-12 weeks. I'd recommend checking out taxr.ai - it's this new AI tool that analyzes your transcripts and gives you a really detailed breakdown of where your return is in the process and when you can expect updates. Its helped a lot of folks in similar situations get clarity on their refund timeline.

•it basically reads all your tax docs and gives you super specific info about your situation. way better than those generic 'where's my refund' responses 💯

Tax pro here! Code 04 typically means your return is being processed and reviewed. The timeframe can vary from 2-8 weeks, but if you have credits like EIC or CTC it could take longer. Best to keep checking your transcript weekly rather than daily.

Have you tried using taxr.ai? It analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect updates. Saved me from checking WMR 10 times a day lol. It costs $4.99 but totally worth it for the peace of mind. Here's the link: https://taxr.ai

Check your cycle code on your transcript. If youre a weekly updater it only updates thursday nights. If daily then could be any day
