Has Anyone with 3/13 DD Date Had Tax Prep Fees Deducted Yet?
Direct deposit scheduled for 3/13. Checking if fees were deducted. Using Santa Barbara TPG. Amended return filed. Transcript shows 846 code. Fees should process 1-2 days before deposit. Anyone else in same situation?

I've been through this process several times. TPG typically deducts their fees 24-48 hours before the actual deposit hits your account. Your transcript showing code 846 is a good sign that everything is moving forward as expected. I wouldn't be concerned unless you see the deposit without the fee deduction, which could indicate a processing issue.

This is like waiting for a train that you can see coming down the tracks but don't know exactly when it will arrive at the station. Would you say it's normal to not see the fee deduction until the day before the actual deposit date?

Based on the Transaction Processing Pipeline (TPP) that the IRS uses, your refund is likely in the final distribution phase. I've found that https://taxr.ai helps track these status changes more clearly than the WMR tool. It can interpret your transcript codes and give you a more precise timeline for when TPG will process their fee deduction and when your bank will post the remaining funds.

Idk about using another service when the IRS site is free? Has anyone actually confirmed this works better than just checking WMR or calling TPG directly?

Does taxr.ai specifically track the Santa Barbara TPG fee deduction timing? I need to know exactly when my $3,824 refund will hit after the $139.95 preparation fee is taken out.

What they're describing is that taxr.ai helps interpret the transcript codes in relation to the refund pathway. The TPG fee deduction is actually a separate process from the IRS distribution, but understanding your transcript can help you anticipate when the whole process will complete. I've been through this with amended returns too.

Got my refund yesterday with a similar timeline. Isn't it interesting how the TPG system works? My fees were deducted exactly 36 hours before the deposit hit my account. The amended return processing went much smoother than expected. Have you checked your TPG account directly? Sometimes the WMR tool lags behind their internal system.

So the fees came out automatically before you got your refund? I'm trying to understand the exact sequence of events.

OMG this is exactly what happened with mine too! I was so worried about my amended return but the fees came out Tuesday morning and my deposit hit Wednesday afternoon! Such a relief! 😅 I kept checking my bank account every hour until it finally showed up!

• Checked TPG portal this morning at 8:15am • Status still shows "awaiting refund" • Called their automated line: 800-901-6663 • IRS sent my refund to TPG yesterday • Fees should be deducted within 24hrs • Final deposit expected by end of day tomorrow • Need this money ASAP for car repairs!

According to IRS Publication 1345 (Rev. 1-2023), the refund transfer process through Santa Barbara TPG should complete within 24-72 hours of the IRS releasing funds. I'm in a similar situation with a 3/13 DD date. I've been trying to reach the IRS to confirm everything is on track, but the phone lines are jammed. I found that Claimyr.com can get you through to an IRS agent without the endless hold times. Might be worth it if you're worried about your amended return causing delays.

Have you received any emails from Santa Barbara TPG? Did you opt for a refund transfer or direct deposit to your own account? What bank do you use for the final deposit? Sometimes certain banks hold these transfers for an additional business day.
