HOH Filer With Tax Topic 152 and Blank Transcript 11 Days After Filing - Still in "Return Received" Status
I filed my taxes on 2/10 and checked WMR today at 11:26. The app shows "Return Received" and "Processing" with Tax Topic 152. When looking at the IRS2Go app, I can see the exact message: "We have received your tax return and it is being processed. If you filed a complete and accurate tax return, your refund should be issued within 21 days of the received date. However, processing may take longer under certain circumstances. Please check here or visit the Refunds page on IRS.gov, to check on your refund status." The app also shows "Please read the following information related to your tax situation: Tax Topic 152, Refund Information" I filed as Head of Household, and when I look at the WMR bars in the IRS2Go app, only the first "Return Received" bar is filled with color, while "Refund Approved" and "Refund Sent" are still empty/gray. My transcript is completely blank though, which is what's worrying me. I haven't gotten any letters requesting verification of anything. Is this normal status for someone still within the 21-day processing window, or should I be worried about the blank transcript? The IRS app tells me to check the Refunds page on IRS.gov for status updates, but I'm not seeing any additional information there either. The IRS2Go app has tabs at the bottom for Refunds, Payments, Free Tax Help, and Connect, but none of these sections are providing me with any additional information about why my return is still in the "Received" status. Has anyone else experienced this with a blank transcript?

The IRS "Where's My Refund" (WMR) screen shows your return is in the initial processing stage, with only the "Return Received" bar filled. Your filing was submitted as Head of Household, and you're seeing Tax Topic 152, which is the standard reference code for normal refund processing - this is a positive indicator, not a concern. The timestamp of 11:26 shows a current status check, and the system message confirms your return is being processed within normal parameters. The standard 21-day processing window mentioned in the message is key here - this is the typical timeframe for most returns to complete processing. Your status currently displays three bars: Received (filled), Approved (empty), and Sent (empty), which is exactly what you should see at this stage. The IRS2Go app is showing the standard processing message, directing you to check either the app or IRS.gov's Refund page for updates. While your transcript is blank, this is normal during early processing. Transcripts typically don't show activity until the return moves further along in processing, usually within 2-3 weeks of filing. As long as you haven't received any verification notices, your return appears to be following the standard processing path.

•np! just remember everyone's situation is different. Early filers sometimes take longer because of PATH act verification

Hey guys instead of trying to decode these cryptic messages from the IRS, I've been using taxr.ai to analyze my transcript. It costs $1 but literally tells you exactly whats happening and when to expect your refund. Super helpful tool https://taxr.ai

•totally get the concern! but its actually really secure. they use the same encryption as banks and delete your docs after analysis. saved me hours of stress trying to figure out my transcript

Anyone else notice how the IRS system is literally stuck in 1995? Like how hard is it to give us actual updates instead of these vague messages 🙄
